While it might not seem like we did much we got a lot accomplished behind the scenes. We expanded foix by purchasing 2 new towns. We removed all inactive residents and started filing all the lwc’s. We created an events town to hold future events for the nation. A foix discord was created. Sadly my term has come to a close but that does not mean my work here is done. I hope to be voted in this round because i believe there is much more to be done. I want to finish all lwc’s and sell the houses. Some of the towns need to be remodeled. I want to hold several events in our new events town. I want to remodel the foix metro railroad as it’s honestly a mess right now. Right now I have a build team and a “real estate” team. I will be adding to those teams so if you would like to be on one of those teams I will be creating an official thread and having applications. Vote for freedom! To counter act this problem, I will decrease prices for builders and new players and inactive players who are coming back. I have also sold houses for Foix before and gives me a better idea of how to run the nation. Even though I am saving up for president, I will do my best to use my money for the nation. As the nation's president I will also strive to make Foix active and hopefully open more opportunities for jobs in the nation. I see a lot of the time people want to open up a shop however, most of the plots in Foix for a shop is too big or too small. I will make specific plots for shops and even customize plots. I also see lots of people attracted to the casino. But I think of this as a main attraction and takes up most of the attention. As the president of Foix, I will make many more attractions for Foix and hopefully expand the nation. Much more can be said to help the nation but if I get elected, that is when it will happen. Hemk/logbo - Parliament Candidate "The Communist Party is the future" I will make sure all Foix residents have an equal position in society (Communism). No one will be discriminated against. My party will make Foix a great place for all players, new and old. My party has experience on the server, we know our way around the server and can even provide help for new players. I also have a plan in mind to support Foix's economy and population. Plan: Make Foix's economy more efficient and player friendly. Build tourist attractions for Foix - Make it more of a place to visit. Provide better transportation - Link up the nation. Execution of Plan: Bring jobs into the economy that pay both the player and the nation back mutually. I will also use my power to get farms built for new players to begin making money and a source of food. For the people that don’t like farming, I would additionally like to have fishing towers built. Currently, Foix only has two main attractions, the golf course, and the ECCCasino. I plan to bring more attractions in, such as; parks and recreation-type areas, possibly a theme park (if possible, I would be willing to purchase another town for Foix), and more PvP themed things like training or fights/tournaments. Finally, transportation... Foix is a huge nation, and residents need to get around. One of my biggest goals would be to link up most if not the whole nation. I would like to expand the metro to suit the nation as it grows. Other Plans Business Loans - Many new players want to start a shop, and I believe here at Foix we can make that possible, Just like the real world shops have to pay rent at malls or so. We should charge rent for a stall at the Foix mall and to help new businesses, loan them so they stay in business and charge minimal interest. Sponsorships - In order to keep the nation running, we need to keep residents and attract new ones, in my opinion. We should sponsor events such as tournaments, golf or PvP. It will bring interest to Foix and attract new players. It may very well bring old ones as well and convince current ones to stay. Spoiler: Candidate #4 Foix Liberal Party Party members ranked after position: 1. @Hackney_Builder (presidential candidate) 2. @TheEpicLime (vice-presidential candidate) "A Foix for Foix's citizens" Short-term goals Problem: Foix needs better transport. Solution: Fill in the gaps on the Metro and reopen the station at the hockey stadium. Cost: Around 10k. Problem: Foix needs to have more profile in the public eye. Solution: Host competitions using the wide range of amenities available (hockey, golf). Cost: Can vary from free (if there is an entrance fee) to up to 200k. Problem: Foix does not have enough property sales. Solution: Evict people who are inactive (28 days+) and create an "Estate Agent" rank, purchased for 50k, which allows for the sale of property. Cost: $0. Problem: There are some amenities that are required. (Namely, archery and spleef) Solution: Build such amenities in the events area (Glandonia). Cost: 5k-50k (depends on quality of materials used, quartz will cost more than wood). Problem: The casino has few games, and is inaccessible from the outside, turning that area into a ghost town. Solution: Redevelop the casino, remove "white elephant" ranks (8k for a shiny new 5x5 office, really?) and open it out to areas that are deserted. Cost: 10k-20k (lots of material can simply be moved). Problem: The old town is essentially unused and griefed (there is a canal that was once a road by the Old Town warp). Solution: Open up the area to sale, with the stipulation that the outside is not to be changed (historical preservation). Cost: $0. Long-term goals Problem: Foix is unequipped for the large numbers of Builders that will arrive with further servers on the Hub. Solution: Build a town by Foix and create apartments and plots there. Cost: 85k (for the town) plus 50k (construction) so 135k total. Problem: Foix needs a boost to its profile. Solution: Host the Olympics. Cost: 25k-200k (depending on the number of events). Problem: Foix needs a steady stream of revenue. Solution: Create a risk-free bank (any defaults repaid by the treasury) Cost: Variable. All in all, the total cost is $635,000 (at most). I had stated my main goals and fixing the metro was not a short term goal last term. I needed to get all the inactive players out and that happened and the lwc’s r being worked on. I have a question for you @Hackney_Builder. Your previous nations/towns have been a failure. What makes you think that this one won’t? And what makes you think you will be able to get everything done if you don’t get re-elected?
As the lead builder for the events town, I question if you've even been to it. Now that Halloween has passed, there are plans to make it into a spooky themed amusement park, seeing as there is already a 100% fully functioning roller coaster built in the town. The metro from foix to this town is also 100% built and functional.
I’d also like to point out that we bought another town a couple weeks ago so 2 new towns were added to The Nation Of Foix.
I get the sense that you're saying this as if you'd get this done. @Bmanvman wasnt the best president, but he did an okay job. And I highly doubt you'd be in the position to fix the metro with this '250k tax' thing. And I agree with bman - If you somehow managed to gain presidency with your campaign, then most of your projects couldnt be done in your reign. And now to elaborate on the topic of your previous towns that bman brought up. Your towns failed so hard that you gave them up. Why would anyone want a president who gives up upon failure? Why would anyone want a president who cant even gain members into his town/nation? Why would anyone want a president who charges 250k for the ability to sell a house in Foix, when there are other parties who dont do this? The fact that your towns were so unsuccessful that you had to sell them just shows you're not fit for the leadership of such a vast nation. I am sorry @Hackney_Builder , but people voting for you are making a big mistake. I'd strongly suggest dropping out now and revising your campaign for next election. You clearly don't even know how Foix works, because you didnt even learn that it had a treasury to use to fund projects until recently. And I can imagine that 250k tax will likely end up in your own pocket...
To be honest this is not in my plans for this term at all. But in the future I could see the making of a foix zoo

What is your plan to populate the nation? What type of players do you think fit into Foix, and how will you keep the nation active? So to populate the nation I will improvise advertising within the co-mayors and use different ads for each person to help spread the word. Generally I think many types of players fit into Foix as long as they don't grief. I will keep the nation active by doing a LWC sweep every week (if possible) and clear out inactive players as soon as possible.
My plan to populate foix is easy. Advertise and sell the houses that we have there. If I win this election I will create a real estate team which will be in charge of selling houses and taking the money sold and putting it in the foix treasury. To keep it active I will host bi-weekly events for foix members.
I would not like to see @Bmanvman in for another term. This is not for selfish reasons, however. I believe he did well in setting up more towns and a discord, but no one really knew. It would have made a bigger impact if those decisions were made public. To populate the nation, we need to make builder friendly towns and plots. We also need to construct farms to make sure they can make money. In other words, we need to keep builders active and productive.
