I hate making this bug report, mainly because of the amount currently out there... It's such a awesome plugin, but needs major changes... I just don't want the plugin removed. Anyways, onto the bug... Minecraft Username: Jetscat Brief Description: Well, I used to play on a server that also had this plugin... They had the following bug as well. What happens is, randomly there will be lag, and your Minecraft character will get frozen on the spot - However, on the players side, they're not frozen, they're in fact still running around the games, even though they're really just standing there. This bug is commonly known as "Ghosting"... At least on the hunger games place myself and D0rc used to play on. This is an easy fix however, at least, I believe it's easy. We can add a command in the hunger games that allows for you to tp to your self, this will allow for you to get back to your real self from your ghosted self. Instructions: One can't simply reproduce it, it randomly happens, and you don't know if you're "ghosted" until you're randomly hit from nowhere, or you can't open chests or break leafs/vines. How many times did you recreate this bug?: It happened to myself and a friend a few times. Result: Frozen in place in real time, however moving around client side. Expected Result: Shouldn't happen. Evidence: Can't really provide proof for such, but I've gotten people saying it has happened to them; Also happened to myself and a friend of mine a few times.
I think i know what hunger games server this is... They use /gf, correct? The command would tp the player back to its actual place on the server. Also, I find a lot of bugs where you are actually hitting the person in-game, but it doesn't register as "hits". It would only show the hitmarkers.
*bump* This is till continuing and there needs to be something done about it... I raged a few times myself due to this, almost makes me afraid to play the SG
A solution in the meantime is to use an enderpearl if you find yourself in this situation. It will effectively bring you back to your body when you throw it. I've seen a friend do this to get out, as well as I have done it myself.
Yes, this should be fixed. I play on another hunger games server where you can do /gf ( ghost fix ) and it TP's you back to your actual self. It is very useful, and would help a lot when people get lagged out, and can't do anything. Sometimes its very annoying, and you and someone else are the last two, they get lagged out and refuse to leave the arena. /gf could help this greatly
This has made me rage quit soooo many times since I last posted. There really needs to be a fix for this!
I have seen this bug in other servers before, and it is a really major bug, people use it to lure others to the "ghost" and back stab them with TNT traps under the ghost Lololol
there is a thing called /gf or ghost fix which is ment to fix this problem, it is on other hg servers (not trying to advertise them or anything :3) but if they have that then it is possible.
mmhm well hope he can add it in cause it would really help the hg. All i was suggesting was that it is possible.
I have thought of a solution. The Enderpearl is a successful fix to this problem, so It may be a smart move to add an Enderpearl to /kit dsg. I thought it might be a good idea to have their own kit, so non-donating users will be able to do it too. But then I thought that people would do whatever kit that would be just for a free enderpearl, but I don't think that is too big of a deal. Not anywhere near as big as the Ghosting Bug is. Your thoughts, andrewkm?
I know this thread hasn't been looked at in forever, and while researching the cause of this 'ghosting' I found this site and this thread.
