In-Game Name: Wazupbutrcup What part of EcoCityCraft is this suggestion for: VMR Server Short title for your suggestion: Adjustment to Netherite Collection Goal What are you suggesting: I understand that the quest book is designed to be challenging, which is great for adding depth and longevity to the game. However, I believe that adjusting the netherite collection goal could significantly enhance the overall player experience. Currently, gathering netherite tools and armor requires players to find four ancient debris and a smithing template, which can only be found in bastions. Would it be possible to reduce the netherite collection goal from 10 to 5? This adjustment would maintain the intended challenge while making the goal more attainable for players. Such a balance could encourage greater engagement and enjoyment, as players would be less likely to feel overwhelmed by the difficulty. Why is this a good addition for EcoCityCraft? Here are several reasons why this change could be beneficial: Encourages Player Engagement: By slightly lowering the requirement, players may feel more motivated to pursue the netherite collection goal, thereby increasing their overall engagement with the game. Reduces Frustration: The current requirement can be highly time-consuming and frustrating due to the rarity of ancient debris and smithing templates. Reducing the goal would alleviate some of this frustration while preserving the sense of accomplishment. Balances Challenge and Reward: Lowering the requirement strikes a better balance between challenge and reward, ensuring players still feel a sense of achievement without the process becoming overly tedious. Improves Game Flow: A more attainable goal allows for smoother progression and helps maintain player momentum, preventing potential burnout from excessively difficult tasks. Thank you for considering this suggestion. I believe that this adjustment would positively impact the gameplay experience, making the quest book more accessible and enjoyable for a broader range of players. +1 I collected all the Netherite items for someone’s booklet and it took, no joke, nearly three months to collect just the stuff that required ancient debris/Netherite. This was playing every single week and before all the changes to VMR that made booklet even more difficult. Even if the requirement for all Netherite items is halved, it’ll be so much better in the long run (especially since every Minecraft update adds a ton of more items that makes booklet even less desirable)
To refute the suggestion that Netherite collection should be made easier on the VMR server, consider the following points: Challenge and Engagement: The current difficulty level of collecting Netherite items adds a significant challenge, which keeps players engaged and invested in the game. Making it easier could reduce the sense of accomplishment and the overall engagement in the server. Additionally, many other players have attained all Netherite items previously. Economic Influence and Player Engagement: Netherite is a high-value resource. If it is difficult for one player to obtain the required Netherite items, they could create a group, decreasing the difficulty of obtaining Netherite. This generates interest in the VMR server, as well as the main server, where a player can offer benefits to the others helping them. Long-term Goals: The long-term goals associated with collecting rare items encourage sustained play and provide motivation for players to continue participating in the server activities over extended periods. Server Prestige: The prestige of having a completed booklet with rare items like Netherite enhances the competitive aspect of the server, encouraging players to strive for excellence and recognition. By maintaining the current difficulty level for Netherite collection, the server can preserve its challenging and engaging environment, ensuring long-term player retention and a balanced in-game economy. PS: This is pretty much already being suggested here.
