2017 ECC Olympics Sign Up Thread

Gather your friends together and form your nations! The 2017 ECC Summer Olympics is going to be here before you know it! This thread will be used for players to sign up with a group as a "nation", and to get an estimate of how many players we can expect at each event.

When?
The Olympics will take place the week of August 20-26, events will be spread out throughout the week. Exact dates for each event will be announced at a later date. Your nations must be finalized by August 19, the last day to sign up.

All times are in eastern standard time
Golf is not held at one single time. Players will contact @a_man21 , @bmanvman , or @CaptainWow12 sometime while the course is open to play. The player with the best score at the end of the week will win. Players will only be able to play 1 round, no practice rounds.

Where?
Events are spread across several different towns and nations, and will be announced later.

Why?
Prizes:

1st Place medal count: $1.5 million ECD divided equally among team members

2nd and 3rd place medal count prizes will be announced when enough teams sign up

1st place per event: $50,000 ECD and a gold medal

2nd place per event: $30,000 ECD and a silver medal*

3rd place per event: $15,000 ECD and a bronze medal*


*2nd and 3rd place prizes will be awarded only for events with enough participants in order to prevent teams from being awarded only for signing up.

Who?
You, along with some of your friends! You must form a nation with 4-7 of your friends for a total of 5-8 people per team. If you are not part of a group, or if your group does not have the required amount of players, please contact me and @bmanvman privately so we can work something out.

What?
There are several events that will be hosted during the week. There is a list of them in the spoiler below. Team members can sign up for as many or as few events as they would like. If you have any questions or concerns about the events, please contact me or @bmanvman

To sign up, please read below and use the following format:

Your team/nation must have between 5 and 8 players (you and 4 to 7 others).

You must create and submit a banner to @a_man21 to represent your team as its team flag, this will be used for decoration at event venues.

If you are not part of a group, or would prefer to play by yourself, please contact @a_man21 and @bmanvman and we will fit you in with another group that has less than the maximum amount of players.

Players can be added or removed from your team as long as this thread remains unlocked.

When signing up, please be sure to specify whether you are signing up for the team event or single event, or what world each event is taking place in, when applicable.

Keep in mind that hockey and team PVP require a team of 3 players, so make sure if you are participating in these events that you have the appropriate amount of players signed up.

For those of you who are participating in the horse racing events, you can now start moving your horses to barns located at each race track, one in rising and one in legacy. Please see @a_man21 , @bmanvman , or @EvasivePeach3 to store your horse in a stable, and be sure to lock the doors to your horse's stall. You store your horses at the racetrack at your own risk, we are not responsible if something were to happen to your horse. Here are the coordinates for each respective barn:

Additionally, @EvasivePeach3 has agreed to help transport horses from your town to the racetrack for a small fee, please contact her if you would like help getting your horse moved. @EvasivePeach3 is also willing to have people borrow her horses for the race in legacy, so contact her to borrow a horse as well.

 

Prizes have been announced! Be sure to sign up as soon as possible, the last day for sign ups will be August 19 as events begin August 20!! Prizes are as follows:

There are no limits for each person and their events, you can participate in every single event that is offered if you would like, as long as you are able to be in game for all of them. There is also no limit as to how many players per team can participate in an event. All players on your team are able to compete in every single event if you wish, the team PVP event and hockey are the only limits to that. Each Olympic nation can only have 1 three man team for team PVP and hockey. I hope that answers all your questions, let me know if you have any more or need more clarity.

 

A new event has been added, a fashion contest! Users will be judged on a combination of their skin and other accessories to make the perfect look for their Minecraft character! This event is being hosted and funded by the Senate and People of Epicure. Stay tuned for more information!
