Minecraft Name: Conorx. Suggestion: Add /pweather to Extended Commands (+) Reason: People would like to take nice screenshots for their towns, and since making it snow in regions is practically impossible to do easily, this is a fair alternative. Any Other Information: N/A Link To This Plugin/Is this a custom addition?: Essentials iirc.
Yeah, let's inconvenience a large group of people who don't like weather instead of giving people the ability to turn weather on clientside. GREAT IDEA, JWPWNS. KEEP IT UP.
Despite I don't think it was necessary to be that aggressive, Kuke is right. And on top of that, I might add that global weather would be actual weather, i.e. with "real" consequence such as snow spawning on land, and therefore I guess it would add some computational load to the server (on top on the client-side graphical load for all players); while pweather would just be cosmetic and therefore only add client-side graphical load (only to the particular player making use of it), with no server-side consequence. TL;DR: actual global weather = lag, cosmetic weather = no lag (unless your computer is crap, but then you don't want to use that command in the first place)
I responded to condescension. (which was prevalent in another thread about weather) Though it might have come off a bit aggressive than intended. It does, yes. While creation of ice and snow can be cancelled, it's still something that is computed beforehand. It's one of the reasons weather is globally disabled, and the other reason being the clientside lag associated with weather. People with lower end computers have issues with weather. Thus, by allowing pweather while disabling weather globally you get a system where people can opt-in with weather in
Ok i now agree with what you say HOWEVER I DO NOT think pweather should be a part of a donation feature we have enough features everyone should have the option to use it. So for it being a feature -111111 but +1000 for the command Lol
Yea i know but times have changed we need to stop making every single thing a feature especially small stuff like weather.
Meh; despite I already have most of the features, I don't think I would ever use it, so I don't really care. It's just that my OCD wants /pweather and /ptime to have the same treatment: either both in ExtCommands, or both free¹, IMHO. ¹argh, ok, /ptime does give an actual advantage, but it's minimal with respect to /nv and, in any case, you get better results with Gamma=100; so it's mostly cosmetic
You won't imagine how useful (and broken and annoying) /ptime is when taking screenshots, especially with shaders... One time I do /ptime 10:00 its day the next I do /ptime 11:00 and its the middle of the night.
As far as I know /ptime jumps to the next matching time, i.e., 11pm. I tend to use absolute values from 0 to 24000.
If 12:00am is closer to your current time than 12:00pm, it chooses the night. Hence my suggestion to use values from 0 to 24000. Concerning the actual suggestion: Why not?
You sure you didn't just type 21:00? you can do '/ptime 12000t' for the absolute values in ticks. wat, no. That's not how that works. It uses 24 hour clock. There's no "am" or "pm" unless you specifically suffix it. ex: "/ptime 8pm"
