What are you suggesting:

I think you should be able to use job or quest points to get a giftcard.​

Why is this a good addition for EcoCityCraft?:

This will make it a little less p2w and allow players to get features with a little bit of grinding. Events are not a guarantee way to get gift cards and are hard to earn. Otherwise you have to buy from players, but the market is not consistent. This would be a guaranteed way for players to get features. Plus, this will be more incentive to do jobs and quests.​

Other information:

The key would be to not make the points necessary too high. Think $10 gift card for 15k points. Something where it would be the same if you were to get a boost or god drop and trade it for a gift card.​
