Tax ChangeWhat are you suggesting: A new way of taking taxes that might be a better happy medium for those who make a lot of money and those who can't really play that often. For this suggestion, ERS will attempt to do two taxes: - A flat 1-2% tax from the total amount of ECD between your ingame balances & bank (taken out of the forum bank first, and then ingame if there isn't enough in bank) - An additional 10-20% off the positive difference between ECD gained from the last ERS taxation (so if I gained 500k ECD and spent 300k since last taxation, I would be taxed off 200k, which would be 40k additional taxes at 20% + the 1-2% tax off my total ECD before that tax; if I gained 300k and spent 500k since the last ERS, then I would just owe the 1-2% taxes based off my total ECD. Basically, if your total ECD gained is positive since the last tax, you would owe two taxes (1-2% off your total ECD that you have and 10-20% off the ECD gained that month). And if your total ECD gained is negative, you would just owe the 1-2% tax off your total amount of ECD.Why is this a good addition for EcoCityCraft?: Taxes are tricky to make for ECC to accommodate those who spend a lot of time grinding & gaining ECD and those who don't play that often due to irl stuff. I agree that everyone should be taxed regardless of their activity level, but those who are gaining a lot of ECD should be taxed off what they made (like taxes are irl). This method, if it is possible to establish with our current ERS, can ensure those who are gaining a lot of ECD per month can be taxed more than those who don't play that oftenOther information: Again, if ERS can be changed this way to take the total ECD for a player on all main servers + the forum bank, that might be better in the long run. Plus, I do know that there are plugins that keep track of ECD gained and ECD lost, so hopefully we can implement that into ERS. +1 I like this approach. no extra plugins would be needed. just log the bal for each player when the ers "services the account" then compare it to the balance at the next "servicing" for the change. Only note positive changes and tax on that value. it doesn't punish those who are inactive. only heavy taxes each player on gains once. (income tax) Lastly, it doesn't distinguish the source of gains so if you paid by another player in any way it still shows as a gain there by still diminishing the total amt of ecd in the economy. to avoid punishing taxes all you have to do is spend your earnings
It requires forum premium, but tax discussions - including spit-balling ideas probably best suited here. Keeps it all in one place and I do follow and read that thread as you guys occasionally discuss things.
