This makes hiring saboteurs to ruin competitors' furnaces and operational rooms a viable and toxic meta. I feel like this might be grounds for a complaint more than a suggestion. It seems like it would be rly hard to implement this suggestion from a code + server performance standpoint. Plus, players might just resort to more advanced tactics, like cobblemonstering or placing spawners.
