+1, as we need them via /kit starter (once the cooldown is up) to survive the self-kill whilst holding it, and that spamming auctions on totem is annoying the more you think about it.
My point was that newcomers auction it for stupid prices upwards of 5K ECD. Let’s be honest, nobody wants to buy totems.
I don't honestly see the point in removing it from being able to be auctioned due to its "low need" <- to experienced players. There are builders who have joined my towns and are very happy to receive totems. Whether they hold a significant monetary value is questionable. If they are removed from auction so be it but I don't see the point past builders auctioning them all the time. We'd have to pay attention and see if when they are auctioned if anyone actually buys them. If it's like a 95% no sale then sure whatever no one wants them.
I don’t think I ever saw anyone bid on a totem in my 3 months here. Your point is valid, thank you for elaborating.
-1. While I see the spammy nature of the totems by new players, I have countless times offered up totems in auction when a builder has used up their last one and ask for more. The auction trolling is the bigger problem, and removing just one item from their arsenal really isn't going to help much.
-1 Not needed to change imo. If people don't buy them, then they don't buy them. If they do, they do.
I think a better suggestion would be to change the amount of totems in /kit starter. I think the reasons they are auctioning them often is they are getting that kit more times than they are dying, so they auction them off for money rather than keep them in a chest. I would do the same honestly if I first started and had a lot of them.
Not a fan of starting a trend of banning items from auctions simply because you find them annoying. Auctions is an easy entry-point for new players to sell stuff, including their unwanted totems. I think we should be tolerant/supportive of that and welcome it. Plus, one can always shut auctions off with /ch leave auc, or use /auc spam to reduce the messages if its too much for you.
