Pretty sure it behaves this way already (unless it only behaves that way in creative,) in which case probably isn’t possible and just how they are coded in Minecraft
Imgur: The magic of the Internet there is a light here above the sign but while holding the light you cant see where they are. idk if its possible to give it the same effect as a barrier block where it shows you them.
When holding light blocks, I can see where the outline is. When not holding them however, the outline disappears. Simply hold a light block and you'll be able to detect where they are.
