Minecraft Name: Expipiplusone Suggestion: Allow ExtCreationsPlus2 users to customize armor stand appearance Reason: Armor stand has a huge potential for making wonderful scenes, however in its present state it's just a place where to hold armor and nothing more. It is technically possible for an armor stand to hold weapons and tools as well as armor, and the head/arms/legs position can be changed as well. Here's an example of what could be done: http://i.imgur.com/6RLpU3F.png The ExtCreationsPlus2 feature was released with the promise of more coming soon: well, this would perfectly fit with the feature's spirit! Any Other Information: Armor stands are usually customized via command (or via command block when the command is longer than 100 characters), however there's more than one plugin that lets you customize it using a simple interface. I tested one of them and I learned how to use it in like 3 minutes (see below) Link To This Plugin/Is this a custom addition?: this is the plugin I tested: http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/armor-stand-edit/ this is another plugin I couldn't test, but it is the one that was used (not by me) to make the screenshot I earlier linked to: https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/armor-stand-tools.2237/ I think both of them let you do the same, however I can't be sure and in any case I couldn't compare the interface friendliness.
It's pretty easy actually: if you open the link to the first plugin you'll find a link to a server where you can test it (I don't want to advertise it). The annoying part is that you have to get the starter kit, go into the wild, get some cobble, make a furnace, smelt stone and use that to make stone slabs in order to make an armor stand: 5 mins tot. Then you have fun testing it Oh, you'll need a piece of flint (that's the default item to open the interface, but it's configurable I guess), but gravel is everywhere
/kit flint. I must admit, I really like 'roleplaying' armor stands, creating them in singleplayer with commands instead of a GUI is incredibly annoying.
To be honest, I just assumed that the was no /kit flint on that server. And flint was already a byproduct of my 4 minutes of mining to get cobble to get... etc. No, wait, I'm almost sure there was no /kit flint, I found no mention of it in the tutorial. We have /kit flint here because it has a major role for letting newbies to know about regions, but I don't think it's the same there (idk really, I played for 10 mins just to test the plugin lol)
My point is "There is no need to configure it for ECC because ECC has definitely no lack of flint due to /kit".
I assumed there would be need to configure it here because flint has already an use and two different uses might conflict. How will the server know what you are trying to do when you right click with flint?
Click on a block = WorldGuard, click on an armorstand entity = This plugin? WorldGuard already works that way, and - from my point of view - the plugin does that, too.
In order to customize an armor stand (at least, with the plugin I tested) you don't just interact with the armor stand: you left/right click (doesn't matter) with flint somewhere else, opening the interface; in that interface, you select what you want to do; for instance, you might chose "rotate left arm respect to X axis"; you close the interface; only then you left/right click with flint on the armor stand and, depending on what you previously selected, you actually change the armor stand's posture; in my example, right click will turn the left arm clockwise around X, while left click will turn the left arm anti-clockwise around X. So, at least for step 1, we would need to configure flint to do worldguard with right click and open armor stand interface only with left click. Or just chose another item, like ice is for investigator. Or whatever, I don't think it's really such an important choice, it just matters that this very minor conflict is addressed somehow
I've played with customizable armor stands and it is almost addicting... And immensely fun. Probably some of the most fun I've had with plugins like it. I have to admit though, probably not everyone would have the same fun. They'd think it is childish. But honestly, it can really add a lot to towns when there are no NPCs and a current low in users. The only one I've used is with an interface. I'm not sure how the command ones work, but it sounds kind of spammy. Also, last time I used one, they couldn't easily be locked, so anyone could modify them. If there is a way to lock them securely, that'd be great - otherwise I think people might complain in similar ways to when people stole horses. Customizing an armor stand just how you want can take a while. I'm +1, but if they can't be locked, it sounds like more upset people and less use.
+1 but as @TerrestreArdente says, if they can't be locked, it will limit their use to basically the market and to interact deny display towns. It would certainly give our builds competitions a new breath of life. I would love to see this implemented and as @Expipiplusone says, we have been promised more to come
If this suggestion is implemented, only ExtCreationsPlus2 user would be allowed to modify them. Sure, it's still someone, but mostly people who have invested a bit in features and hopefully are not eager to troll. So, not a very high chance they could be inadvertently modified by some noob. But I totally agree that having also a way to lock them would be awesome (still, I didn't ask for this as well because I didn't want to bite off more than I could chew)
This seems like a super fun idea and would give me a reason to get ExtCreationsPlusPlus so that I could make some awesome exhibits in a museum etc +1
+1 I like use commands in singleplayer alredy and custom armor stands can make like things like put a pickaxe in a rock xD
I still don't know how to make armor stands, or fireworks, or even banners for that matter. But new stuff that I'll never use is the whole point of capitalism! +1
