Everyone that purchases a new town with no warp from a user that was not the original owner for the town deals with complications if the user is not active. It would be great to make it so that users that are not the original owner of a given town, but are an owner of the town, can apply for the town warp paying 70k instead of the normal 50k. I would love for your input! -Blixx
How long would the user have to be inactive for? Would all owners on /rg list be able to create and/or move the warp?
What's the point in official ownership if we still let people apply for things if they aren't the official owner?
What advantages does official ownership give? It would be a lot better if the current owner should be allowed to apply for a warp, if it doesn't have a warp and it becomes a builder town how are the builders going to get to the town? And the official owner has been off for a year. I see no point in official ownership
Mostly being able to apply for things. Why would you turn a town without a warp into a builder town...
People can do anything with towns. Plus wouldnt it be easier and better if the current owner applied for it all?
I agree. @Nicit6 what would be the disadvantage to this in your opinion? Or would there be any? I thank you, Mr. @Nicit6 And Mr. @Astral_Codex for replying so fast !
I agree with @Nicit6 that if this is implemented it almost defeats the purpose of offical owners, but at the same time I can see how it could be such a pain if you weren't the offical owner of a town and you wanted something such as a town warp. Town transfers/town claims cost a lot if you just need them so you can apply for town features. In the end, I would -1 though, it would get too messy and overwhelming quickly trying to decide what you can apply for being the offical owner and not.
Who is the current owner though? In the eyes of the server, that's the official owner. It's really the only metric we have of saying "yes, so and so owns that town". Sure, we could go with any region owner, except we can't because I'm willing to bet there are a lot of people who would prefer their coowners not to be able to mess with their applications. Moreover, what about all of the players who've applied for town transfers so they can do that? "Sorry we understand you've put a lot of work into making it so you can do this but someone complained it was too hard for them so all your money is now basically wasted".
If you buy a town from another player who is not the original owner, and you know that they are not the original owner and that ownership can't be transferred to you, then you should know that you can't apply for any town features, including warps. It's not like the town is being dumped onto you and that you are burdened with the fact that you can't apply for anything. You didn't have to buy the town. If you want a town with a warp then buy one from someone who can transfer ownership or get you the warp. Buy a resident to mayor. There are easier ways around that than changing the server's rules. If the server rules do get changed then lots of people are going to be angry that they purchased town transfers, those cost 150k. How would you feel if you purchased a town, the town transfer, and then the 50k for a warp? That costs 200k assuming that you got the town for free. -1
Ecc has changed before. When people get mad. It really does not change anything. What it has to do with is the server's future. As Mr @Nicit6 has said many times himself on the Suggestion about making towns great again...
