A large majority of the main worlds and the mining world is unprotected, and grief can and will happen in those areas. If you wish to reduce the possibility of grief, it’s encouraged that you seek out a mayor or president who has a town with plots for sale and speak with them about obtaining a plot. For more information about obtaining plots in protected towns, and the rights of the mayors and presidents of a protected town, please see Section 5 of the rules. Clause 2 - Trolling Trolling is not allowed on the server, especially any trolling that is directed towards another user. This includes, but is not limited to: Flame baiting Harassment (See Section 2 Clause 3.) Cyber-bullying Attempts to start any form of chaos and discord within the server. Clause 3 - Harassment Harassment constitutes as any form of action (chat or game play wise) that makes another player feel threatened or otherwise ruins their game play. Griefing in the wild does not constitute harassment. Harassment in the wild is strictly chat/command based. This includes, but is not limited to; blackmail, bullying or any other form of harassment that occurs through our chat system. Attempting to kill other players in any non-PvP zone also constitutes as harassment, and succeeding in killing other players in non-PvP areas is a very severe offence that will result in a ban. Harassment is absolutely inexcusable on EcoCityCraft. If you are engaging in this behavior expect to be removed from the server with little to no warning. Disrespecting staff falls under this rule - They are players too. Clause 4 - Common Sense and Bending the Rules While this is a gaming environment, EcoCityCraft is also a very large community. As such, we expect that all players use their common sense. Be a good sport and a friendly community member. Common sense extends to not bending the rules. Bending the rules constitutes as very severe trolling, and is not tolerated in any form. Encouraging others to break the rules is not using your common sense. Interrupting or stealing items from server events is not using your common sense. Finding ways around the rules is punishable at administration’s discretion, from warnings all the way up to bans. If you feel like a rule has a loophole or a way that it could be used to be trolly, we encourage use of our suggestions forum or contacting the administration directly in order to take a look at the rules that may need to be changed. Clause 1 - General Chat Rules All chat is to go into the appropriate channel at all times. Any user who is consistently not using the correct channel, especially in a way that may disturb those attempting to use certain channels, may be removed from the channel and/or punished. For information about channels and chat commands, please visit our Server Commands page. Clause 2 - Vulgarity Inappropriate and vulgar language is not allowed. This includes anything put on signs, said in chat, written in books, renamed to on items (see Section 3 Clause 2.1), spelt out in blocks (see Section 2, Clause 2.1), or any other way of communicating. Occasional mild to moderate vulgarities that are not directed at anyone (such as "slip-ups" or saying them in the incorrect chat by accident), self-censorship of a swear word or abbreviations that may imply a swear word (eg. WTF?) are allowed unless it is directed at another user. Repeated or excessive swearing, and especially vulgar language directed at anyone, is not tolerated under any circumstance. Racist language or prejudicial language of any sort falls under the vulgarity rule, and is considered a very serious offence which may result in a ban with no warnings given. Clause 3 - Inappropriate/Touchy Subjects and Discussions EcoCityCraft is a server community consisting of many age groups, religious groups, and political backgrounds. As such, there are many touchy subjects that we do not allow in our public channels in order to keep the peace and prevent arguments and flame wars from occurring. All chat must be kept appropriate and clean at all times. There is to be no discussion of anything deemed inappropriate for a workplace, including, but not limited to, sexuality, excessive violence, alcohol/drugs and inappropriate or dark humor. This rule extends into subjects about illegal substances or actions, including drugs. Politics, religion and suicide are common “touchy subjects”, however they are not the only ones. Should a staff member ask you to change a subject they feel is touchy and/or is causing the direction of chat to deviate towards an argument or flame war, you must drop the subject immediately. The civil discussion of politics is permitted only in the VIP channel. Discussing a banned user's ban reason and why they were banned is not allowed, however simply mentioning a banned player's username is allowed. Accusing other players of breaking any of the Server Rules is not allowed. Use the proper means to address these concerns such as speaking to a staff member or filing a complaint. Section 10 - General Forum Rules Usage of the EcoCityCraft forums at ecocitycraft.com constitutes an agreement to these rules. There is to be no flaming, raging, insulting, or disrespecting of other members. This includes attempting to prod a user into starting an argument with you or others, as well as just plainly attacking them. Threads made for the sole purpose of raging/flaming another user or at the server in general are against the rules. The punishment for this is the thread immediately being deleted and a forum warning applied to your forum account. Posts made for the sole purpose of raging/flaming another user or at the server in general are against the rules. The punishment for making a flame/rage post is for the post to be deleted and a forum warning applied. Multiple flame posts in a single thread will result in a thread ban of at least 3 days and up to a permanent thread ban. There is to be no trolling, harassing, or attempts at annoying / prodding another user into breaking the rules or to a point where they feel uncomfortable/necessary to get staff involved. Should staff deem your post trolling or harassment, you will immediately receive a forum warning and possibly a forum tempban. There is to be no abusing of any forum features There is to be no threads created solely to ask for ratings. ('Give me ratings for x' or 'Rate me to enter this contest') Any threads created for that purpose will be deleted. There is to be absolutely no posting of personally identifiable information (Name, Address, Email, Phone Number, etc.) There is to be no re-creation of locked threads. There is to be no posting of any sort of phishing, inappropriate websites. There is to be no spam. This includes posting threads in all CAPS. There is to be no account sharing. Multiple accounts are not allowed. If you would like to change your username to match your minecraft username, contact a gameadmin+. There is to be no sharing of private messages without the expressed permissions of the sender. (Unless it is exposed to staff due to an inappropriate private message.) There is to be no posting of pornography, gross stuff, or anything else which is not safe for work. There is to be no discussion of Piracy, Warez, Leaked content, Cracked minecraft accounts, etc. Keep it legal. There is to be no discussion of hacked clients, hacks, or other programs that are illegal in game (Nodus, autofarming, etc.). There is to be no soliciting, auctioning, selling, advertising, referrals. (Unless related to EcoCityCraft in our advertising section). There is to be no racism, discrimination, drugs, alcohol, religious, political and other topics which are highly prone to flaming/debatable and most of all highly arguable discussions. There is to be no threads/posts made which focus purely on "raging". There is to be no back-seat moderating, or “minimodding". Let moderators do their jobs. We do not deal with goodbye threads. If you are going to leave please don't tell the world in public, and if you do, don't expect the conversation to be dragged on. If you can’t find why a user was tempbanned/banned for example, then that’s that. Do not make threads about it. It causes unnecessary arguments. There is to be no [youtube] BBCode within signatures. Doing so will earn you a temp forum ban. There is to be no spamming with @ tags in posts. Only tag/mention someone using the @ tag if they are seriously needed in the thread. There is to be no "necroing" of threads, which includes the following criteria: Bumping a thread that has not been posted on in over 2 weeks, unless the content of the thread has become relevant to be opened for discussion again. Bumping a thread that has not been posted on in over a week in order to flame, troll, or cause a problem. Section 11 - General Discord Rules Usage of the EcoCityCraft Discord server constitutes an agreement to these rules. Remember that Discord and minecraft are composed of many different age groups. Talking about inappropriate subjects in any way around minors is prohibited. Use your common sense. If you see that there are children in the global channels and your topic is inappropriate, stop. In addition, ask those who may be engaging in these discussions to stop as well. It is your responsibility as a community member to step up. Avoid constantly cursing for no reason in our non-password channels (As well as all channels if the age group is young). Yes, this is a voice server and rules are hard to enforce, but think about others and the way they may feel about it before you belt out a string of foul language into your microphone. This will be taken as spam and you will be acted upon. Explicit topics related to anything abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-orientated, drug related, religious, political material including any other material that may violate any laws be they of your country, the country where the EcoCityCraft Server is hosted or any International Laws are prohibited. There is to be no discussion of Piracy, Warez, Leaked content, Cracked Minecraft accounts, etc. Keep it legal. There is to be no abuse of any Discord members in any way including harassing/provoking others. Do not log in and out of Discord rapidly. This is spam. All users must use their full in game minecraft username at all times. No user may use a voice changer on Discord for any reason. If you plan on changing channels a lot, for some strange reason, tell a Moderator. Otherwise, it’s viewed maliciously. Do not post comment links that are inappropriate. You should have a fair idea of what is allowed and what isn’t. If it is offensive in any way, avoid placing the link in your comment. The ECC Discord is for playing the ECC server only. Other Games channels are to be used exclusively for other games. Playing other minecraft servers (including other games like Tekkit that are based on minecraft) using our Discord is against the rules, except in cases of major ECC server downtime (6+ hours.) It is strongly recommended that members avoid posting personal pictures or links to personal profiles on Discord. If you do, be aware of the consequences. Do not, under any circumstances give out personal information. This includes, but is not limited to, addresses, phone numbers, or anything that could be used to inflict harm outside of the Discord server. If you do this, you are doing so at your own risk. Never give away any passwords, credit card numbers, etc on Discord. EcoCityCraft administration will never ask you for this information. All comments and public text chat are to follow all the chat and Discord rules. This includes staff impersonation; you cannot set your comment to (mod) or other staff tags to pretend you are a staff member on Discord. Moderators reserve the rights to insta-ban people if they see suitable, not all offenses deserve a warning. If you have been banned you must appeal in our appeal section on www.ecocitycraft.com. Staff members will act immediately upon breaking any of these rules. Our Discord is a very strict user friendly area to communicate and hang out. Be sure to do so in a welcoming, rule-abiding manner.Please explain in your own words what the rule(s) means: Clause 1- Universal Living - This means not to disturb other people enjoying the server, by rating andrewkm's post "NIG" I disrupted the entire server from enjoying a friendly and peaceful time. Clause 2 - Trolling - This rule means not to troll, obviously my actions were to troll andrewkm in the discord channel. I regret this so much as it resulted in a BAN from the ECC discord. Clause 3 - Harassment This rule means not to harass other users/players. By rating andrewkm's post in discord "NIG" I harassed him and obviously this was unwanted which warranted the ban. Clause 4 - Common Sense and Bending the Rules- This rule is simple, don't be an idiot. By rating andrewkm's post (the owner of this server) "NIG" I was clearly lacking common sense. I have no idea what was going through my mind that I thought rating his post "NIG" was a good idea. I am very sorry for that. Clause 1 - General Chat Rules - This rule means to not chat with inappropriate or racial slurs, which my rating of "NIG" violated. This is not acceptable at all and this is why I have waited 3 weeks from the ban to appeal. Clause 2 - Vulgarity - This rule means not to be vulgar, similar to what I stated above, my rating of andrewkm's post "NIG" was uncalled for and should never be allowed on any ECC service. Clause 3 - Inappropriate/Touchy Subjects and Discussions - This rule is simple, do not bring up any touchy topics that are occurring in the world. By rating andrewkm's post "NIG" I brought up the controversial political topic of whether or not this word should be allowed in our society. I do not believe it should, and I am very sorry for rating Andrew's post with this. I do not partake in hate speech, I am ashamed at what our country has been going through especially involving the riots in Charlottesville. I respect all people, all genders, all sexes and all races. I am very sorry for my actions. Section 10 - General Forum Rules - simply stated follow all forums rules discord included. My rating andrewkm's post "NIG" on the discord which is advertised via ECC forums, I broke many of the general forum rules. I again apologize for this. Section 11 - General Discord Rules - This is the main set of rules that I broke. It means follow all of the discord rules set by the Staff team of Ecocitycraft. Discord is supposed to be a place where people can chat and talk about Ecocitycraft in peace and should not have to deal with my trolling behavior of rating Andrew's post "NIG"Reason you feel you think you should be un-banned: I believe I should be unbanned from discord, because I took a long 3 week break to think about my actions. I truly regret what I did and I hope I can be forgiven and allowed back on the ECC discord.
