You made death threats. You said you weren’t joking. That’s not something we will tolerate. Not to Andrew, not to anyone, and not anywhere on this server.

Anyone who has ever asked me what the rules for /ch fucker are will tell you that I always say "anything short of death threats." But this wasn't even in that channel (not that it would be okay there either), this happened in global, our most public channel.

People get arrested irl for this type of behaviour, even if it happens online, even if it happens on video games, and even if you claim it's a joke. I will not abide it. A full ban would have been justified, but I opted for the mute, which allows you to continue your general gameplay.


Now look, I did see and do recognize that there was some back-and-forth between you and Andrew that led to that response from you. This mute does not downplay that you are a human and had your feelings about it. One could even argue you were standing up for yourself in your own way, but you expressed those feelings in a way that was wholly unacceptable by our server rules and by certain real-life laws.

I very carefully measured what to do about it based on the entire context, online staff at the time will tell you I debated it for a solid amount of time before acting. The call I made was to protect everyone, including you from digging even deeper into it.

I'm letting this mute stand without converting it to a temp. You may re-appeal it after 7 days. I'd ask you to take that time to reflect upon this incident. I need you to understand that this went way too far and it can never, ever escalate to this level again.
