Minecraft Name: Expipiplusone Suggestion: Bring back coupon codes for: voting winners; build contest winners; idk whether they used to be awarded elsewhere, but let's bring them back wherever they used to be. Reason: Currently there's not a huge incentive into voting/building/whatever, coupon codes used to be a very good one. The system worked pretty well before EULA and the only reason they were removed in the first place was that (see next point). Any Other Information: Last time it was denied because of EULA: now that we've said "SCREW EULA, WE'RE GOING HOME" (semi-cit.) it would be great if they were introduced back. Partially related to this suggestion, however mine is broader and applies to coupon codes being used as a reward as well, as it used to be. Link To This Plugin/Is this a custom addition?: n/a.

Argh, I even commented in that one and didn't recall at all (and why didn't I find it when I searched before making this thread? this is most embarrassing). Anyway: I can't see how inflation could be an issue, as coupon codes don't inject any ECDs/resources into our economy. On voting sites not attracting our playerbase: when and how did this change? In any case, even if we don't bring back coupon codes for vote winners: what about build contests? I see no reason for not bringing them back in this case.
You can buy money in the store, meaning you can inject money with coupon codes. Granted this might be able to be disabled, but that means spending extra time generating each code. Ask Jamie.
That's not the reason and you know it. What happened is that the voting sites is all about money now, and not about votes.

Not really. It can be condensed into 1 sentence. Big servers pay lots of money to get the top spots on voting sites and all the traffic goes to that.
Why cant we make Event Tokens worth some kind of value? Have more things tp purchase using Event Tokens. Doing that and having more events, that currency would be as good if not better then Coupons. The bug I always hated about coupons is people would just tend to sell them for ECD. The same can be done to a point with Event Tokens but not as easily. So -1 But develop and build the Event Token system. Its got a decent base, but could be improved a lot with more variety of prizes and more events to give the prizes out on.
event tokens weren't meant to be able to be spent on prizes the idea was to use them as entry fees to bigger events with larger prize pools. ECC doesn't need a third currency.
Lets get rid of the tokens then, cause atm the moment they dont serve the purpose it was created for. I dont even think there has been 1 event that you needed token as a buy in.
I hosted a spleef contest that had a event token buy in at one point. That was several months ago, though. I wouldn't object to removing them as long as competitions can be backed with good prize support.
