I can confirm that I have gotten this error message. It threw me off because I had no idea what happened.
I also received this message when I placed down a gold block. I then mined the block up, and placed another one down, but this message did not occur again.
The same message came up when I placed a gold block on the floor and, as I was placing it, it even made the clanking sound an anvil makes. This message only appeared for the first gold block I placed down and not for the other ones after.
