Thread title: Mushroom Block Buy Signs Minecraft Username: Dumdum71 Brief Description: When you attempt to buy "Mushroom Stem" or "Mushroom Block" you get a "Giant Brown Mushroom Block" Instructions: 1. Attempt to buy a "Mushroom Stem" or "Mushroom Block" from the third floor of the block shop. 2. Have "Giant Brown Mushroom Block" added to your inventory instead of what you want. How many times did you recreate this bug?: Twice. I am currently trying to get my vault set up so that it has at least one of every block. I bought 256 of each of the mushrooms to add to my vault and when I got back to my vault I realized I had 256 red mushroom and 768 giant brown mushrooms. I went back to the block shop and realized that the left two mushroom signs will give you giant brown mushroom blocks instead of what is advertised. I would have tried more but it cost $1k each and I don't have much money at the moment. Result: You get 256 Giant Brown Mushroom blocks. Expected Result: Get 256 of the block advertised. Evidence: I don't think evidence is needed for this but I am more than willing to do so if needed.
I <think> mushroom blocks were made uniform in 1.8. On my phone atm, will try to make a more detailed answer tomorrow. Somebody please tag me in 12 hours if nobody else has explained it until then.
I thought so too but the "display" blocks show the stem and normal mushroom blocks. Since the texture hasn't been converted, I'd think that you'd still be able to purchase the blocks.
As promised, writing a more detailed post now. The problem is that as far as I know before 1.8 the mushroom block had stored which sides would show which texture, this was defined when placing the block. With 1.8, the Meta-IDs seem to have been changed. As it currently stands the meta-ID from the buy signs will not work because now the meta-IDs don't store which texture belongs to which side while in the inventory anymore. Now the definition of the texture appears to be done when the block is placed, until then they are all uniform. This also appears to make the purchase of mushroom stems impossible. I tried to break this down to an easily understandable wording. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask and I will try to answer them as easy to understand as possible.

On a side note...the block shop used to sell double slabs as well, right? I wonder what the [Buy] signs gave when 1.8 removed the ID 43...
Star item? Wat. I remember a few user shops selling double slabs (I think around autumn 2014) because they bought them. I always thought they were a part of the block shop. o_o
They were rather cheap at the star shop, but were there cause they were unobtainable (even more so now!)
Still, I wish I knew what the sign would say if you were to call ID 43 now. Same applies to water/lava blocks.
My point is...if the items got removed (FOr example the water block), what would a shop sign do that sells a water block if you handed it 500 Nstars?
