I just saw that someone has said there was $15k instead for resident.. The only reason I wanted the money was to become resident. I was wondering if I could instead apply for that, even though I have already been accepted for the other?

He did, he just for some reason put the application in the text where he quoted admiral's post

 

Fedex applied for the $5000 bonus- I was simply suggesting that the $15,000 would be better, since I've heard from fedex in-game that they would use any bonus funds for Resident.
