Hello! fellow Ecocitycrafters. This thread is the application section for the communal melon sword. If we got enough nether stars from the fees we could have a backup tool incase someone breaks the original melon sword. Now don't get me wrong, if you break the tool we will find who broke it and you will be forced to repay it, we will be making contracts later on for now this is just to see who is qualified for using the tool. The fees will most likely be an 18 nether star monthly payment to stay in the Communal Star Tool Club, as well as each time you rent the tool there will be a 6 nether star fee (a daily vote). In order to make sure that everyone's needs with this tool are met, you can only rent once every two days for a 2 hour slot. Leaving many users a chance to use the communal star tool. (This will be closely monitored by the use of the investigator feature. Anyone abusing this will receive a long ban from the Communal Star Tool Club. The reason for making a restraining a user from renting more in a 2 day period is the obvious potential abuse of the system. Spoiler: Example For example Player A could rent for 2 hours and his friend could be sitting at the chest and snag it up (Player B). When Player B is done he can tell Player A to get ready and snag it up. By only allowing one two hour rental per 2 days this bypasses the potential non-sharing dilemma that could have occurred. Now remember this process is simply to see if you will pass the qualifications of the council, you cannot start your rentals right away, every user including council members will sign a contract regarding the use of the melon sword. Hello there ndm, I would like to highlight your last post regarding the fee. The reason for this fee is to gather enough nether stars to have a replacement tool incase someone breaks the current melon sword. If we had no payments for the subscription/rental, then the community will be out a melon sword for as long as it takes the user who broke it to pay it back if ever. I can assure you no profits will be made from this everything will go back into more community star tools.
On the fee, lets do some math: The usual going rate for msword rentals is 10k for two hours. In the communal star tool club, Economic is proposing charging a 6 nstar fee, which sell for around 3500 or less per two hours. Thats like 65% off the normal rent cost. And the 18 nstars per month, is only about $10,000 ECD. Lets look at it another way. There are 30 days in most months, and since you can use the tool every two days, that means a user might use the tool twelve times. 6*12+18=90 total nstars contributed per month. These would be worth around 50k. If I payed 10k for each of those rentals from a rental company, I would have paid 120k. So its less than half the cost of a traditional rental And if we had even just 10 users on the tool, each contributing 90 nstars a month, then in just two months we could buy a new sword in just two months, to be used as a replacement just in case, and hopefully just to make the tools available more frequently or to have a higher variety of star tools like starrods or eff7s.
so there is the monthly fee but everytime I use the star tool I need to pay 6 nstars correct me if I am wrong
Correct me if I am wrong, the 'community' paid for this tool already. Why charge them more now, to use it when it was seen to be a communal tool that everyone could use? Furthermore the addition of an application makes it even more difficult to use, when your whole show for this tool was that it would be 'communal'. I understand that you want to have enough there for a replacement, but shouldn't that be taken as donations too? I just don't see the real point, at this point I may as well rent from @maroiogog or something, much less hassle and atleast he's straight up about everything.
Uh, so? Those who donated did it from their own free will, in full understanding that those who hadn't donated would use it. He was not advertising, 'donate 2 me and I will add u to a special group 4 my msword !!', he was saying it was communal, which means anyone and everyone in the community could use it. I'm not arguing the preface of the idea, I'm arguing how the idea was originally put into place, after he recieved the tool, which therefore put those who donated in a different position than the one they were in when they donated. It's the fact the deals basically changed now that he's recieved the donations. It should have been made clear from the absolute beginning.
