I want a dog but "our whole family" ,which means my mom, got a cat.

I can't get a dog because "I would not take care of it"

 

I'm more of a dog person myself, mostly because I've always grown up with at least one dog in the house. Also, to me, dogs are loyal, love you, and want to be with you, unlike cats, which just come for the food then go sleep for the whole day ignoring you. IMO, a dog would take a bullet for you, and a cat just comes for the food.

On a side note, personally, I can't stand small dogs. They are yippy, always full of energy, and I would be afraid that I would step on it. I prefer big dogs that I can wrestle with, and that won't be mistaken for a cat/rat/rabbit.

I don't mean to offend anyone with this post, this is just my personal opinion.

 

I just have to say, big dogs are pretty cool. They serve an actual purpose in life rather than just annoying their neighbors. A golden retriever or German Shepard would be a nice pet and friend.

Both. I adore cats (if your cat ignores you and only wants food, you got a bad personality in the cat and/or don't give it enough attention/love to come to you o.o) a lot and personally connect with them a lot better, but... I adore medium-large dogs (and pugs). Great Pyrenees and St. Bernard are great though (I consider them "giant" breed).

If I could only get ONE pet, though... I would probably go for a dog. They are more personable and exciting. In a couple years that will change to cat though, simple because I will be busy and dogs can't maintain themselves alone.

 

We have a dog...but I read a 56 book series about cats so they kinda grew on me....so now I want a cat to name it Shrödinger :3

Dogs are the best pet out there!

Dogs, I think they are more of a friend then a pet. Cats go away a lot and come back just for good while dogs stay with you, lick you and try to play with you. Cats are adorable tho just like dogs.
