So only things that are absolutely needed should be on the server? Well then there are a lot of things that shouldn't be on here according to you.
the only way i can ever see something like this is if it got enough people behind it khobbits added a /team feature which splits profit and stuff
just no.. please.. no.. lotto teaming is like a no-contract loan.. look at the differences. Lotto Teams: Player A: hey team? Player B: sure. No-Contract Loans: Player A: Can I borrow 10k, pay back 15k when I can. Player B: sure. *pays* Again, no contract, and can't really be enforced. Also, lotto is solo, team with someone you trust not someone randomly who asked.
My gut decision on this one is no, but when my gut asks my brain for an explanation, my brain comes up empty. You can call it a "solo game". "too hard to enforce" "will waste staffs time". But really, those problems aren't deal-breakers for this suggestion. They're just details to be dealt with, just like every other problem/suggestion. I still just feel like this is a bad idea. But I can't explain why. Take whatever opinion from this you will, I think I'll wait this one out on the fence
Almost every plugin is "nice" not really absolutely needed, most suggestions that go through are for convenience not pure necessity .
Honestly, +1. "It's a waste of staffs time"? Hell no. Lotto is a business of millions and millions. It is not a 'Waste' of staffs time.
It's not a "business" as you call it. It's meant for gambling, SOLO. This is why it's every person for themselves in lotto. It'll take a lot of time, as there are A LOT of teaming in lottery (trust teaming, not actual agreement). This would take so much time for staff to deal with "lotto scammers". Besides, it's lottery fro a reason.
-1 I don't think we should enforce scamming. We should be enforcing rules to prevent scamming. What is "lotto teaming" exactly? Lotto Teaming makes no sense mathematically and really doesn't increae any odds. It completely mystifies me that anyone would "team" when it doesn't increase your odds or profit. I, honestly, don't know enough about the lotto culture to get into too many details, but it seems to me that by "teaming", there are so many cogs that have work exactly right, there would be so many ways to in "breach" of the agreement. I am providing these questions for a one time agreement for one lottery. Teaming with multiple people increases this exponentially. I hear there are long term teams, which would complicate it even further. If I don't purchase the agreed upon tickets and you win, and you don't pay me, would you have to prove I didn't purchase those tickets by providing a video of the entire auction? If I do purchase and win, are we talking about net profit, gross profit, other? Would you have to show that you did purchase your tickets? I just see this as a quagmire of issues and not something I would want our staff to get bogged in. I appreciate that instead of cherry picking complaints/issues, they have made a blanket statement: Don't do it. If you do, it is at your own risk. If you feel you were "lotto team scammed", then don't do it with that person. Enough people stop doing it with that person and they will stop teaming. This is the same with many other features. And knowing this ahead of time, will save you money and grief in the long run.
Its a simple thing to enforce, but mods don't want it to be enforced because its just another hassle for them, just another thing they have to look out for. But I think that if a person provides good screenshot of the agreement he can report the scammer and it won't be hard to punish him. The screenshot must contain the % of the winnings you agreed to share, the tickets you bought, the tickets the other party bought your balance before and after lottery has ended. Its not so hard its basicly like any other deal you make. There is another option and that is to forbid lotto teams all together which is harder than my previous suggestion.
This is an example of completely over-complicating it. No deals talk about "net profit" "gross profit", it really is just they split the money. And why is buying donations for other people different? Why is buying _____ from someone different? Staff continually say "we don't support it" yet still enforce it, and even then its not even much of a hassle to deal with.
-1, Lottery teaming is a matter of trust. If you don't want to risk your money by teaming with others; I'd recommend not doing so. Personally, however, I've seen lots of incidents regarding lotto team scamming.
