Thread Title: Forum Suggestion Minecraft Name: Joshuwat Suggestion: Have it available for threads to be edited by players other than the original poster Reason: If there were things that more than one person worked on, there might be a thread for that project. If the original poster of the thread was inactive and the other players working on that item were not and needed to update on things, they can't. If this suggestion was approved, more than 1 person could edit the thread, (writer of thread can choose, of course). Other Information: This would help with such like with the Vault Of Ecc, @obblebobble, Danedor, @Glimpseseer, Jemjam, owned by myself and @Glimpseseer, and many other businesses. Link to this plugin/Is this a custom addition?: Idk, probally a Xenforo update?
.....Spigot doesn't do the forums. Spigot is MINECRAFT. XenForo is the forum. Anyway, seems like an interesting idea - But I question it's feasibility. Not sure if it's possible, and I don't believe Jamie does XenForo things.
Thanks for shout-out This would be great, but yes it is handled by XenForo. Currently staff members can edit posts, similar permissions could be granted however, I'd assume that it would let you edit any post on the forums or the section, which isn't good. An addon would have to be downloaded or created, one that enables editing for certain people on a particular thread only. Would be rather tedious to setup, but once done I think it'd be great.
I would absolutely love this and think its a great idea... however as stated in the previous responses, Im not sure if its possible. That would be something for Jamie to comment on.
Would be a nice addition assuming we add for last edited, the user who edited the specific post/thread. I.e. Last edited by minecraftninja05 37 minutes ago for a thread shared by me and at least 1 other person.
I mean, you can't really punish it as you really don't know the intentions of the the editors. You shouldn't add someone whom you don't trust to edit your thread either way. Anyway, that could be easily prevented if we allow the OP to retain full control of the thread, including removing editors.
Yeah true. I think... it means more like putting inappropriate comments within a thread, pictures, etc. Not a huge issue as you said... you should trust the people involved.
As Obble said, putting nasty comments or anything like that. But of course, you should add people you trust ONLY. However, friends troll friends more then anyone else
There could be an add-on where it says And, if an inappropriate thing comes into place, you can see that you could click a button by "last edited by:" and see who edited to make what.
More or less, that... if there is an easy way to do it, by all means make it happen, but if it isn't a easy fix, I don't see it being something that we should worry about.
There are good addons available to make "social forums" or sections with their own unique permissions system and moderator ranks, and they do work well. However, it would not be worth it unless you tie it into Towns (like chat channels) or make it a purchasable ECD feature. They are immensely useful and allow for different tiers of permissions and ranks (customizable permissions).
I agree that it's a great idea and quite interesting as well. I suggested this a couple weeks ago, however it was denied due to immense staff work that went into creating a social forum, numerous bugs, and not to mention that the plugin isn't updated to the current version of XenForo which ECC has. Here's the original suggestion for more information in this. Novel idea, but unfortunately unfeasible.
