Minecraft Name: Your_Maker Suggestion: Addition of Halloween mini-games, of sort, for October. Reason: Just last night I had a dream of me in the server. In this dream the Hub at the spawn was replaced by some very defined title, (coincidentally, the hub is already black/orange). I enter the portal and end up in a large room with other portals leading to custom mini-games. Each one had the chance to award specific prizes (e.g. enchanted bows, foods, a few unobtainable items, nether and end objects, etc.) which were displayed beside the portals. Any Other Information: In an economy based server, mobs are often unused. We have them in form of mob spawners and rare natural generation; however, their sole purpose seems to lie mostly within the season of Halloween, when you would most expect monsters. Link To This Plugin/Is this a custom addition?: It would be pretty difficult to dig up a plugin for this. I am very passionate about this one and would be happy to help in any way possible.
It seems it could be a cool idea. I probably would say it is, if I had understood it, however I'm not sure I do understand what you have in mind. In particular, what's the link between the "Any Other Information" and the "Reason" sections? I'm a bit confused
I'm glad you asked, since I didn't really tie the context together very well. The purpose of my suggestion is to request use of the empty hub portal for seasonal things, such as mini games with prizes. The idea of fighting mobs may introduce a temporary solution for the seemingly useless weapons. It may not even have to be something related to the holidays, I only brought that up because Halloween is so near. It would still be great to make some sort of arena for fighting mobs to earn money and/or items. The only issue that could come about is choosing which plug-in would be necessary, if any. (Command blocks seem out of the question for server lag reasons.)
Ok, now I understand it better and yes, I like both parts of your idea. My only concern is lag: mobs behavior seems to be (afaik) very resource consuming, computationally speaking; on top of that, if many mobs move in the same area where many players are, I guess there would be a hell of information (proportional to the amount of mobs M) being transmitted to many players P. If both M and P are biggish, M times P might be huge and the server might be overwhelmed just by the amount of data being transmitted. (but, I might be wrong and/or not up-to-date on this)
@Game Admin do as you wish. We unfortunately cannot custom code anything for these events. We're focusing on skyblock. The Game Admin team can run in game events however they please
How about you guys (ECC Staff) spawn in the woodland mansion? And make a server wide event of which every player on the server tackles the woodland mansion, and tries to find stuff inside the mansion (like in the rooms because there are many). That could be a lot of fun and (I guess) easy to implement, since the woodland mansion is already a thing in minecraft. I guess staff can just auto spawn the creatures?
Very sorry, didn't mean to offend you. I do understand skyblock is the first priority right now. I hope others do as well. Nether less, maybe some random town can make an official ECC Halloween event. :3
I've already been planning some stuff for Halloween since the beginning of September. May have gotten a few more ideas for what I've got going from here tho.
I leave event planning to the @Server Admin team. As @JamieSinn specified, custom code will not be added for events.
