Minecraft Username: Izz9 Brief Description: I just got windows 8 and this happens every time i click play. How many times did you recreate this bug?: Every time. Evidence: (Cont.) i need help ASAP, i may have my melon sword on me, and iv been offline for like 3-4 days. I have to sign on soon before it wipes my Inventory.
My advice would be to go to your video card manufacturer's website and re-install/download the most current drivers for your video card. If that doesn't work, make sure you have the latest Java installed.
Make a new folder on your desktop. Go to %appdata% -> .minecraft Move folders like saves, screenshots, resourcepacks, versions, stats, options, lastlogin, mods etc... into the new desktop folder Delete your whole .minecraft folder Drag the old folders from the desktop into your new .minecraft Go to minecraft.net, and re-install minecraft. It could also be (from what I see and understand) is that your only allowing minecraft to run on less than 1/2 a gb of ram.
UPDATE: I have completely removed Minecraft off my computer twice now, and updated java entirely, i still cannot join. Same message, attempting to re install video drivers.
Before you click play, go to edit profile. Towards the bottom, it will say JVM arguments, and a bunch of stuff the last number is what you want to change. Try 1G
I tried everything above, i tried updating my graphics driver, it said no updated required, removed it and uninstalled it several times, tried making it run 1GB of ram, didnt work, then i tried to run off 2, still nothing. and i even updated java. Same crash report.
copy paste the full error to pastebin.com and post the link to the paste in here. Also, what video card are you using? EDIT: after a bit of googling. http://hopper.minecraft.net/help/pixel-format-not-accelerated/#win You need to update your video card drivers
When i try to update them, it says they are up to date. Pastebin link-->http://pastebin.com/7jasVHCH and this is my video driver info
And every time i click fix the problem, it takes me to a site to download my Video Driver, and when i install it and it runs, it says Drivers are up to date.
http://www.official-drivers.com/installer/?seed=ati&gclid=CMno5ZDs9b0CFcqUfgodvxAA7g Go there and do it directly.
this says to install both the 32 and 64 bit java but idk if that's your problem. I wonder if this would help: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1383256-advanced-minecraft-error-test/
Hey Izz, sorry I am not that helpful with this. I use a mac, and generally I am just bad with this sort of stuff. However, I did find this thread from another forum. A user with the same graphics card as yours, and a similar sounding problem, said that he used AMD's support to get a driver, but then had to make sure that the AMD driver was being used, and not just the microsoft driver. I am not sure exactly what to do to do this... however that thread says this: Go to Control Panel Go to Device Manager (You may have to change the view of control panel to see this) Expand Display Adapters by clicking on the arrow Right click your graphics card and select Properties, for example, mine was named AMD M880G with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 Go to the Driver tab Click Update Driver Select "Browse my computer for driver software" Select "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer" Select the driver that is NOT from Microsoft Corporation Click Next It should now install the driver software, this may take a few minutes. During the proccess your screen will go black, but it should come back shortly after, this is because in order for your computer to change your driver, it must uninstall the old driver which displays graphics on your screen You have successfully changed the driver of your computer, you should not need to restart, however, if you are still failing to play, do so now There might be more insight to what that other user did on that thread. Let us know what happens, and if something here doesn't work, maybe someone can help with insight...
Thanks for the help guys! <3 but im just going to revert back to windows 7 in the near future, hopefully.
