Accepted Increasing Fish Prices

This has already been in the suggestion forum time and time again.

1. Fish are already overpriced. Almost NO effort is involved in it especially with a fishing tower. Fish already sell for greater than or equal to Gold Ingots.

2. This would obviously increase the income gained from fishing. With more gain, comes more people hacking to get these gains. This would cause a lot more afk auto-fishing.

I feel like @UnitedStates2 would have a strong opinion on this.

 

Almost no effort is involved with farming either?

The argument of 'it would cause more hackers' applies to any pricing change. Increase mining? more x-ray. Increase SG? more pvp hackers. Lower farming prices? more hackers for the rest.

I think a small increase, around 25%, Is due. From what i've been told, with a star rod, you're currently looking at 8k an hour.

 

That's a totally arbitrary comparison. I guess you're saying that gold is rare and stuff, but mining makes nearly 3x as much as fishing, so... is fishing really overpowered? I don't think so.

You stated this yourself: "With more gain, comes more people hacking to get these gains."
This is applicable to literally any economy change we may want to make... and really, we shouldn't stagnate the server because of it.

Anyways, second post because different point/topic but:

I guess the price of fish could be increased when taking into consideration the fact that a 10k (or even lower!) max fort pickaxe makes more money than a star rod. It's a tool worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, after all, and it's quite backwards to have a 10k tool make more than it.

 

Just like fastbreakers, but you don't see anyone with the argument that with higher prices there would be more fastbreakers. It's silly.

This needs to happen. Fish prices need a drastic increase, as this server gets boring after a while with only 3 money making methods.
Also, a $800k tool makes 7k an hour! Isn't that great?

I voted against raising prices (one of the whole 3 of us to do so) because fishing involves neither mining or crafting, has no risk involved, and (regardless of automation) can be done for hours and hours with no slowing the progress. If the block (or body) of water eventually eventually "got fished out" then I'd be okay with it, as it would require the player to change location - but I don't think the fishing industry should be on the same economic tier as mining.

Re: star rods' cost, too bad so sad. Nobody would suggest dropping nstar cost of a rod but maybe that should be done instead.

Fishing tables are pretty lame I.m.o.

 

+1 Fishing is fun, and it's a nice change of pace from mining and farming, but ya a 1500 nstar tool, that is meant to make money, should be more comperable in making money...

We have a HUGE new money sink with EULA compliance I think it's time to make the change in fishing. I mean tweeks are going to be needed this is a good first one as fishing is one of the least common methods of making money currently compared with farming/mining so wouldn't flood the economy like raising melon prices even 5 cents.
