In a town? No, unless I was taking it to protect it until the owner came back online. I'd be yelling at them to lock their stuff though.

 

I personally just leave it alone, most of the time when stuff is unlocked it is a new user and they just dont know better, but thats really up to each individual person as they approach a situation.

In my opinion, I would say that taking stuff from an unlocked chest is just wrong no matter what the rules state. The only exception to that is when there is the LWC rollback at the end of the year since those chests are owned by players who the server deemed abandoned the server

in the situation you put forward, I wouldnt steal. The amount of time spent gathering a ton of iron, diamonds and emeralds would make me feel bad. However if the chest just contained a bunch of coal, redstone, wheat and fish I wouldnt hesitate.

I was slightly drunk and interpreted it as "Would you steal?" I will admit, I have taken stuff from unlocked chests before, but it's not right to do so and haven't done it in a very long time.

 

If a sign said near the chest: "I quit ECC, take all you like" I would but I would not if the user had not quit.

 

They promoted someone who openly admits to being a thief. Bigger yikes.

Nothing wrong with it in my eyes. I wouldn't even say it's stealing. It's like finding money on the street if you saw a bank note on the street would you not take it if it was just there? It's almost like picking berries off a bush or foraging in my eyes. It's like would you leaving your wallet or phone in a public place, leaving your gym locker open? No. When you come back and find your shit gone you're going to blame yourself.

After they do get their stuff stolen it will be a lesson for them not to be so careless. They will remember that time xboyfernz stole from their chests and will know from now on I will lock my chests. It is almost like a fine for being careless.

 

You don't understand. Xboy doesn't consider it stealing, but the people he steals from do.

2. Is it xboyfernz's?

If the answer is yes to either of the questions, then no it is not stealing, it is redistribution.

If the answer is no, then it is stealing.
