Well, you cannot upgrade Magic Cod since Magic Cod doesn't actually have a level 2 to upgrade to.
Also it would be helpful could you provide a screenshot of your Magic armor that isn't from interactive chat [item], that has been reported to be showing a magic items pre-conversion level, not the actual current level. -
I just tried this on all 4 of my Netherite L1 armor pieces. Getting the same error message. My upgrades did however work on my Magic Hoe and Nwart(before it was discontinued).
