+1. Seems like a small change that would help a lot when you need a random chest and don’t want go through your PV’s to find them or the wood to make them.
Signs make sense because all the excreations stuff uses signs. None of it uses chests. Go buy some wood from the market and craft some, or buy some chests. Kits aren't meant to give you the exact thing you need and don't want to get. If they are, I'd much sooner a /kit quartz or /kit coloritem
Understand where everyone is coming from. Quartz and color items tend to have value. A chest has no real value, same as a sign. Does kit starter give wood?
