Don't know what Ecostrike is? Watch this video!

Four teams return for battle within a new landscape

Ecostrike is a hero-kit based Capture the Flag game. The Ecostrike League's inaugural season took place in 2020, hosting 4 teams dueling it out over the span of a 3 week regular season, with all major player and team stats recorded. Following the regular season, the teams take part in the season Playoff tournament over the span of 2 weeks, matched through seeding from the regular season. The first week hosts the semi-finals, and the second week concludes the league's half with the ESL Finals event - the battle to take home the elusive Champion's Shield, a personal Championship Ring made for each player, a sizeable cash prize, and most importantly, a scribe into ECC history.

A Brief Explanation of how Ecostrike Operates + Rules

    • Each team begins on either end of the stadium arena, also known as their base.
    • Each team has a lockerroom with each kit. Referee(s) will verify player integrity/inventories.
    • A referee will then call "Prep Phase" where players get approx. 20 seconds to set up their defenses. They MUST stay behind the black walls during this phase. A referee will count down the remaining 10 seconds of the phase. At the end of this countdown, the referee will say Go, which starts the full round.
    • The arena is made up of various types of platforms. The clay platforms are spleefable.
    • Once a player has fallen off a platform into the pit, they are what's called "downed". When they are downed, they can not come back up for the rest of the round. If all players get downed, the last player up will become the winner of that round.
    • If a player is holding a flag and gets downed, their team must battle their opponents and become the last team standing. The opponent may still win the round by getting a flag capture, unless they also have their flag downed.
    • After each round is won, players must swiftly return to their lockerrooms and prepare for the next round. Referee(s) will call 1 minute remaining, then a 10 second countdown, for the preparation phase - by the end of that countdown, players must be in their bases with kits ready.
    • After the preparation phase, the referee(s) will conduct a quick check phase to look over inventories to ensure players are following rules and using only one kit.
    • Players cannot give each other items (refer to rules).
    • After the second round of the game, there is a halftime that lasts approximately 5-10 minutes depending on halftime activities.
    • Each regular season game is best of five rounds.
    • Each playoff game is best of seven rounds.
    Rules
    • Teams can only do 1 of a single kit at a time (ex. No 2 runners on one team). Each team cannot duplicate kits. Multiple attempts by a single player will result in a Technical Foul.
    • Teams must stay within their black walls during Prep Phase. The utility placed during this phase must stay on, in, or within the black walls. Failure to follow this rule will lead to a Technical Foul.
    • Utilizing any cosmo aside from flesh hook and ammo is banned. All cosmetics must be removed upon entering the arena.
    • A player must remain in the pit if they are downed, for the rest of the round. (falling off a platform into the pit below). A player is not allowed to use utility to come back up. Infraction on this rule results in a Technical Foul (fouls explained below)
    • Players are not allowed to give each other items from their kits. Players may splash a team if their kit contains a splash or lingering potion, but players may not drop items for teammates or opponents to pick up. Infraction on this rule results in a Technical Foul.
    • Players are not allowed to increase their speed levels, use fly, utilize any other cosmos besides those used in kits, or utilize any other plugin that gives an advantage (this is all disabled-no skirting allowed). Infraction on this rule results in a Flagrant Foul (fouls explained below).
    • Players are required to each wear one of their team's helmets along with their team's uniforms, all of which is provided in their lockerrooms. Infraction on this rule during the round results in a Technical Foul.
    • After each round, players must return to their lockerrooms in a swift manner, and get their kit ready by the time the preparation phase ends. Infraction on this rule results in a Technical Foul.
    • If a player picks up their own team's flag, their next action MUST be to put that flag back, and must return it in a swift manner (do not hold the flag ever). Any other action, such as attempting to hook someone, will result in a Technical Foul with restart of round from the bases (with no kit/utility resets).
    • When capturing the flag, the flag MUST be placed in the center of the Capture Post in order to qualify as a capture. Failure to place in the center will allow the round to keep playing out until it is fixed or the other team scores themselves.
    • Players must remain professional throughout the game. Players are not to troll, grief, or sabotage rounds or the game in general. This rule includes poor conduct towards viewers and fans. Infraction on this rule will result in a Technical Foul, that CAN be upgraded to a Flagrant Foul if the behavior threatens or is detrimental to the integrity of the match or the image of the league.
    • Players must not do anything that threatens the integrity of the match or gives an advantage, and in general must use common sense (do not find ways around rules). Infraction on this rule results in a Technical Foul.

    Foul Consequences

    • For every 2 Technical Fouls a team receives, a round will be given up to the opposing team's favor. If it is a sudden-death round, the match will be won by the opposing team.
    • For every 1 Flagrant Foul a team receives, a round will be given up to the opposing team's favor. If it is a sudden-death round, the match will be won by the opposing team.
    • If a singular player reaches 3 Technical Fouls in a season, they are given a 1 game suspension in the current season.
    • If a singular player reaches 2 Flagrant Fouls in a season, they are given a 1 game suspension in the current season.
    • If a singular player reaches 4 Flagrant Fouls in a season, their conduct will be escalated to a review by the League Leadership to assess if the player must be suspended for the rest of the season, or given another 1 game suspension.
