Whenever you vote for the server you get 1 ticket. If you get lucky you get more than one (depending how lucky you are). Every vote cast adds $100 added to the pot (negotiable). At the end of every month there will be a random draw and the results could get posted in the news section or something. This would require no in-game programming/work because it could all be done on the forums (except the work that needs to be done on the voting sites to count the tickets). An official thread on the forums could display the pot and the amount of tickets entered, and could be updated every few days by staff. This would be good to add because it's something to look forward to at the end of every month, and each player has an equal chance of winning, so it's exciting for everyone. Maybe even throw in an event medal for the winner, since it would fall under the category of server competitions.

I like the voting raffles we used to have because multiple people won even if it wasn't very much. Whereas the basic math I've worked out has said with the proposed numbers it would be around $2M a month... (100 players actively voting 6 times per day 30 days per month = 18,000 votes ( $100 = $1.8M ) ) IMO this would just leave a lot of people unhappy based on a few outcomes... 1) Somebody inactive wins. Very possible. Then it doesn't really make anyone happy. 2) A new player wins. It sounds good, and probably looks good, but then you realize... a builder who's only been around a bit and never had very much money... That's likely enough to get them to accomplishing all of their goals. If they do that there's no challenge for them and they won't stick around. Still not a helpful outcome. 3) A "rich" player wins. When rich people win everyone else is resentful because they're already rich, they don't need the money.
Seems absolutely fine. Add a claim period for inactive people. If you don't want someone new to win, why should we have any lucky votes? Won't they get bored from that luck? Just because someone is rich, doesn't mean they don't deserver to win. That's dumb.
...that's not my point. By inactive, I mean builders or other players (but probably builders) who played for a couple days, voted a few times, and then left. Chances are that they're not coming back. If they never come back, then guess what, the drawing hasn't made anyone happy. Did you even read my post? I'm guessing you read like, 3 words. Winning stuff isn't the point, it's winning enough money to do everything they want, in a game that's about spending time to earn the things you want. Please tell me how this applies to $600 from lucky votes. I didn't say they don't deserve to win, I said other people won't be happy about it. Seriously dude, read my post. Especially because you didn't even address the main point which is that multiple, smaller awards make more people happy, instead of a single person.
Sure 128 diamonds, emeralds gold and iron, 64 netherstars and 10k is something. If they won't play again, they still won fair and square. If someone rich wins, don't expect people to be happy, but don't adjust to make them happy either. Notice who won the raffles in my screenshot. Not exactly newbies. Currently being top voter only gives event tokens/credits/whatever. Fucking up one day drops you a few places, another and you're almost out. The raffle will be an incenetive to the more casual voters. Oh, midway I realise you're talking about Zev's lotto, not the raffles. Too late now.
I am denying this due to the fact it would actually require more work than you can imagine. Plus all the reasons @Nicit6 stated above. There's just too many factors to consider when implementing something like this. Most important is the fact I'm really not up for dumping a couple Million more ECD into the economy each month. And finally because we are slowly altering vote sites right now and I don't know my future stance on them / how many we will keep. PS: Speaking of voting two sites have been removed today. Nether Star prices will definitely fluctuate
