My Protection II book not working

Is the chestplate already enchanted with Fire Protection, Blast Protection or Projectile Protection? Those three types - and normal Protection - are mutually exclusive.

 

Is there a protection enchantment on the chestplate already? If so, if it's higher then protection II it won't let you combine it, as it would have to be the same value as Prot 2.

 

Have you though about trying a different protection II e-book by any chance? As far as I remember, sometimes if you have multiple enchants on the same e-book, it won't always work.

 

Hmm, I'm not sure why it wouldn't work, you still have the book correct?

 

are you trying to combine it, or are you paying to have someone combine it for you?
