New idea to phase out kits

    As everyone knows, kits are basically the bane of eccs existance. They are the symbol of a pay-to-win server. now, now, I know everyone is going to say, BUT I PAYED FOR MY KITS! as much as the people who buy kits make money, that comes at the expense of major rages and quits of new players, a practically dead sg, declining players. So I got a plan that will phase out kits over time
    1. nerf the sg winning. This one is self expalnitory, if kit users cant make much of a profit using kits in sg, there will be no point to using kits, but they will still have them. No where on the donation site does it say that kits have to make loads of money. they will still get the features they payed for so.
    2. make boss-battles/events 100% kit free, to further lower the value of kits.
    3. when no one will see the point of using kits anymore and no more people will buy them, remove them from the shop.
    4. and then if kits are still a problem, just nerf them massively or make a kit free sg.

    Kits are, and always will be a problem on this server. They are also a great source of revenue that helps the server owner continue to offer all of us a fun and rewarding place to play minecraft in a multi-player environment. That said, you have a 25% chance of having a kit free game to play. Not bad odds for someone who has played on a server for over a year and has not donated one single penny to helping the server keep running.

    You do realize how many players/potential donators we'll gain if they're removed? People say that the server is dependent on this revenue but then if we get rid of them we'll have plenty of other players/donators who will make up for this revenue.

    I shouldnt have to pay to have a chance 100% of the time. And maybe some of us dont have the money to donate. even then, you shouldnt throw someomes idea out the window becuase they didnt donate. becuase lets face it, the truth is non-kitters get rekt like 19/20 kit matches against kitters.

    minecraft PVP has been broken from the start. kits or no kits its your choice to go into sg. personally i dont play SG so kits are no problem for me. because i simply dont interact with the environment that kits are used in. we have a pvp arena that kits down work in. if you want to brawl kit free goto the pvp area.

    you play for free on a minecraft server that costs money to keep up. without people buying kits the server wouldnt be what it is today. kits or no server. weigh out the pros and cons.

    You realize that kits only amount to a third of the total worth in donation features, right?(well, more like 2/5, but that doesn't sound very convincing, now does it?)
    Everyone acts as if kits are singlehandedly keeping the server up, when, in fact, the majority of the players don't even buy kits. (nor play SG)

    Perhaps you are correct, maybe you shouldn't have to pay for a 100% chance, but then again, perhaps the server owner could just pull the plug if there were no donations.
    I understand there are players that are unable to donate, however, there is no reason that on a hardcore economy server that a player is not able to earn enough ECD with a reasonable amount of effort to be able to afford to purchase features from those that are able to sell them.
    I did not throw your idea out the window because you did not donate. I simply do not believe that taking away something that someone donated for is the right course of action.

    The PvP system we have is completely different. It costs in-game money to have a chance (Prot 4 armor, max/star swords and bows) against the best/most powerful. While this isn't quite Pay2Win, it does present a significant advantage to those more experienced on the server.
    Based on what I've heard from others, the kits, while playing a significant role in ECC's existence, could be removed and the server would still exist. For that reason, I think that phasing out kits may be a good idea, if we can compensate those who bought them at a significantly higher rate in EcoDollars.

    As someone that doesn't play sg because of kits, I believe that this is a good idea. I have only donated for two features and both of them are non-sg related. Something that I have noticed is that not may people buy kits but buy the most important features (like tp and multi-home). By taking out kits not only will ECC not loose much of a profit ECC will also gain players (because payers won't quit because an other player played with kits), thus meaning more of a possibility for profits. I believe that nerfing kits would put only a minor dent in ECC's revenue.
