Going through all the posts in this thread, I'd like to address one thing: don't re-add old spawn. Everyone is saying add back old spawn, but those people need to take off the rose-tinted glasses. Old spawn had function, but no style. I'd opt to just make a brand new spawn.
It seemed like Nicit mentioned something about a new market on a list of to do things in his response to my market numbering suggestion (Not trying to advertise my suggestion)
As I understand it when the hub is completely functional wont all new players be logged directly into the new hub? Or do they get logged into the existing spawn? It would make sense to be logged directly into the hub, and from the hub you can enter into ecc's main server etc... My point is, do we really need to redo the current spawn if new people get logged directly into the new hub? If thats not the case then yes redo the current spawn.
Yes new people start in the hub and Yes We still need a new spawn its the main server and always will be the spawn still sucks
I remember from a long time ago... when spawn was terribly looking but was so fun. There was the snipe box, a few mining portals, those enchantment rooms with the funny hats, Andrews mansion, that weird water tower thing that you could glitch into with lift signs, etc. As a member who has been playing for over 3 years (my forum date does not say that, however) I can say that the past spawns have provided a great deal of fun and meaning to the server. I think this should be brought back to life. I don't think we should bring back the older spawns, however, maybe make a new one. Another thing that I think would be great is to let members of the community add small things to the spawn such as a sign in a hidden place. I'm not saying let users have free range or even temporary access to the spawn, just let the staff members place the sign.
It is rather disappointing, at least to me, that this has already been suggested, and yet DENIED. Even with a 45-11 survey, showing clearly people wanted the old spawn back....
