Greetings, OK, so I am expanding my home vault. I wish to create as little lag as possible. I understand that the market is being spread out to decrease lag, because the number of signs in a small place increases lag. I know that we went from being able to lock furnaces to being able to lock obsidian. So.. What is the best way for me to hold my many many things? Do locks create lag? If I have 500 chests all locked without a single sign, does this increase lag? Do TRADE signs increase lag? This is an obvious 'yes'. But I am including it to differentiate from non-trade signs. Do Normal signs create lag? If I place a sign on each of my 500 chests, will that increase lag? Is there a trade off? Like it is better to have one trade sign than 10 chests? Or are 100 locked chests less laggy than a single trade sign? Trapped chests vs Regular chests? Does it make a difference? I understand the basics (the more spread out in more chunks the better). But I am just curious if anyone can help me any further. I run on a laptop that is older than some of our players. Even 1 FPS increase means a difference to me. If I can keep my FPS above 20, it would be terrific. Thanks. Thanks for any help anyone can provide. I am always looking to learn new things. EDIT: For a visual of what my issue is: I have 100,000+ smoothstone. Should this go into a sign, chests, or what?
The more pf any sign the more the lag. Locks dont create lag for you. And placing the stone in a sogn rather than 20 chest all with signs will reduce lag Sent from my LG-P769 using Tapatalk
Minimize entities you have loaded at one time. Minimal chests, signs, etc. Store everything as compactly as possible, so your smoothstone is best in a trade sign.
So far I have one person who says 20 chests with no signs is better and one who says 1 trade sign with no chests is better. Both say that a sign is a sign is a sign, and the "trade" part doesn't matter. Still waiting for more people to weigh in.
I have a room filled with exactly 70 chests, most of which have signs specifying the contents. I don't lag in there even without Optifine.
So I am hearing that although riskier, since I will not be reimbursed for any items lost via a sign glitch, it is better, performance wise, to house everything in trade signs rather than chests as a chest will give the same lag as a sign? Edit: Jericho, see that is what I thought. I was under the impression that I could have a lot of locked chests, and it wouldn't impact performance. I really do not want to have to set up 500 trade signs in one room and then 500 chests in another room and compare performance results. But I may do exactly that to figure this out.
