TLDR: Your tool durability bar is lying to you Given the fact I already raised the issue in chat, I'm sick of hearing about people losing tools because duarbility refuses to update. It currently has a habit of getting stuck (I noticed this happening while mining and holding break for a long period of time), and an example of something that prompts the durability bar to update is when I /pt sell hand on cobbled deepslate. I also heard eating something can have the same effect. Mainly just putting this here so people know. On a side note I so desperately want to vent, I was told that despite noticing the issue, because I had not lost a tool, it was not an problem. Instead, what it took was multiple other people losing tools later down the line, and here we are now. I cannot express enough the frustration felt, even though realistically there is little that could have been done in such a short time. I hope to see some tools returned. Auto repairs seems to be the only way around this. Regardless, please be careful, friends <3
2nd This post. Especially while holding down mining for extended periods of time the durability bar will just skip a chunk and break. Had it happen last week not fun.
Auto repair is truly the only way to prevent this, or be more careful with your tools. Another thing you could use is a powertool or a macro on your client alongside the /durability (or /dura) command ever so often and watch your remaining usage. I see no issues with the actual durability on the server. The bar being out of sync could be for numerous reasons, from client side issues, to using an incorrect version to play on the server, etc. I would never truly rely on the visual durability bar. PS: We have never returned broken tools unless they are the result of an actual bug.
