Minecraft Username: @purplelegoender Brief Description: Well, basically, as above, the personal player stats aren't showing. Instructions: 1. Click on the SG boards on forums or type /sg stats in-game an 2. View what appears, which should be what I explained happens above. How many times did you recreate this bug?: Not really an amount of times it has been created. All I can say is I done it several times and even reloaded the page and opened new ones and the same error occurred Result: The Survival Games Personal Player stats aren't showing when the username is clicked. Expected Result: Stats for players should show up. Evidence: Sorry @JamieSinn. I know how much you hate the leaderboards. Lol.
Honestly, at this point SG Stats are basically the last thing I ever want to think about. I don't have time to fix it, they cause immense server lag because of the MySQL queries, and I legitimately don't have time to deal with it. I'm going to discuss with Andrew about a stats reset to help resolve these issues. I'll of course make a "Hall of Fame" or something to keep the top 100 or whatever.
Yeah, SG Stats is far too big now. 540k tracked games, 102k unique players, 2.4m point changes, 2.1m kills It's time for a reset.
Yup, we need to skype call about a total SG stats reset/wipe. Save the old leaders/put some sort of hall of fame for them, and give some incentive to climb the leader board again, perhaps with yearly prizes for yearly leaders.
What's the purpose in resetting it now if it's going to be removed in a year? And even if so, wouldn't it be more proper to reset it when it's removed and just recreat SG entirely since "The last Developer who created SG didn't do it so well"? It would just seem more proper. Wouldn't want to delay Skyblock any further, as most're saying.
"Removed" is a bad description. To quote nicit's eloquent description of it "There are no plans to remove SG at this time After Skyblock we are considering some technical upgrades and modifications, however it is not a priority" Basically, we're eventually going to replace the plugin and remove it from the main server, and put it on a separate server. There is NO set date for this, and no set time remotely soon. We only will be doing it once we have the rest of the network at a stable level. The reason for resetting stats now, is that it causes severe lag on the webserver, and it decreases the quality of browsing on the main forums because of this. (It causes massive MySQL CPU usage). If we wait until the undetermined date of when we do fix the problem that is SG, then we'll be shooting ourselves on the main forums (The core of the network). Regarding "delaying skyblock" - Wiping the databases is 4 commands. Takes me literally 30 seconds. Medals will be discussed, but I'm personally concerned with performance and stability of the server.
Well. You wouldn't be able to do as I previously suggested? Remove users after rank 100 from the leaderboards which would possibly take away the lag, a lot. Or possibly just remove our personal player stats as they have no real purpose. Almost everything displayed on those are displayed publicly on the leaderboards itself. Would seem like a good idea. But you know.
Due to how the stats are calculated, no I can't. Stats are calculated by summing up your total points, game time, etc from ALL the games that you have played in. Ever. Hence why a complete reset is required. Good idea, but sorry, there's no way around a full reset.
