Sure it's annoying. I understand that, but that's why there's '/lot messages' and also, if you can read chat while that's happening, there's nothing wrong with it. Nothing wrong at all. When people start powertooling it to the point where my entire chat screen is '[username] just bought 1 ticket!', then there's a problem.
Why should that spam be ok while regular spam isn't? If that's ok why isn't spam ok in general as long as you can read chat still?
Because lottery actually benefits the server. For every ticket bought, $150 comes out of the economy. What does spamming chat with characters do? Nothing. There's a fine line between the two.
But there is a easy and simple way to buy many tickets at a time without spamming. The ONLY reason for buying a lot of tickets one at a time one after the other is simply to annoy others. There is no other reason for it, and this makes it trolling as well as spam.
The fact that you can buy as many as you like in one text means there is no reason not to do so over buying then one at a time at one time. This is just an annoyance. I would love for any one to give a logical reason as to how buying ten tickets one at a time in a row is better in any way than buying ten tickets at once.
As I said before, strategy. That's a logical reason. Mehmet II attacked in waves (1 ticket), without placing all his eggs in one basket. Let's say I accidentally hit "100" instead of "10". I'd be pretty pissed off. It's also a safety method so that you don't overbuy like that. Sure, I could spend $5k more than I had intended to do so, but it's better than going $90k over than what I wanted. Is that not logical enough for you? Might as well get Socrates out here to save me then...
