I'm in favor of this suggestion. Rewarding players on ECC for even just something as simple as their birthday may have them stay longer. Even some of the smallest things can have a large impact. Arguments against the suggestion are flawed and even outright silly. Claiming that it somehow "fuels entitlement" is quite silly as a small 1k gift for your birthday is nowhere near silly and you get more from voting. Claiming that it will result in inflation is silly too, as a small 1k gift won't inflate the economy and completely ignores the fact that millions are taken out already. +1
What is there, round 130 semi active ppl? so if everyone got 1000 on said birthday, that would put an extra 130,000 into the economy each year. I dont see this as a problem, however im sure there would be many guidelines to setup and follow, would it really be worth the server administrations time and effort for 1000 once a year per person? I personally dont think this would be time well invested when im sure they are very busy with other stuff. Big +1 for the thought -1 for implementation

Very good point, sir Didn't believe you, just checked, it's true: "Once your birthday has been entered, it cannot be changed. Please contact an administrator if it is incorrect" I see absolutely no issue in this suggestion: as many have pointed out, it wouldn't make a dent to the total amount of ecd generated and taken away each day, and it is a small little perk that would help the server retain players. But if you really really are that afraid of inflation, then maybe make it something else? Idk, maybe an unsellable item with a special tag (idk if that could be easily automated, though)? Or, your own head? +(1+ɛ)
It'll will most likely be automatic. Perhaps Jamie can create a plugin that adds the money to your forum bank per the birthday,
But also: if someone is inactive, their 1k will most probably just get wiped in a week, problem solved (by itself)
My fault, I had in mind ingame bal and forgot that the original post mentioned only forum balance (to my partial defence, ingame balance has been cited at some point in the thread, due to the fact that bank transactions are only 10k+)
+1 And maybe an automatic shout from the server at midday when all players are on so the user or users who's birthday is people can congratulate them.
Which would more than compensate, in congratulatory shouts, the 1000 ecd being generated. Very clever indeed, my sir.
