Yes, I was banned for trolling on my second offense. There are people way worse than what I have done that have been unbanned in quicker time, and I was threatened to be perma'd. I honestly don't see the logic, but who cares.

Well thays probabally a coincidence and the real link is time with time spent on the server and punishment severity and generally as people spend more time on the server they spend more money.

They give you more severe punishments for having been on the server longer but still breaking the rules. You are mislead into thinking the link is donations and more severe punishments, but the reason it seems this way is because generally, when people play longer they donate more.

You don't want to be banned and are tired of writing appeals - then quit doing things that get you banned

 

Every one of my bans were for different reasons. So I am doing that.

 

You got banned for hacking twice though...

 

This has been suggested many times. It always gets shot down because staff prefers the flexibility to deal with situations on a case-to-case basis.

Also they need the ability to be able to be more lenient to big donors.

I don't see why staff would choose to handcuff themselves with an inflexible rule like this. End of story.

I disagree with this suggestion. The reasoning behind my negativity toward this idea is a combination of reasons, one that has already been stated by Admiral, in that there really is no such thing as a perma-ban here on ECC. Players that we had thought been long gone for years were unbanned recently. While I was on the staff team I saw no fewer than eight supposed "permanent banned" players being unbanned. In addition, an important point that has not been stated in this thread is that people change. I myself have had far more than three bans. I'm pretty sure I'm at seven at this point. However, I do believe that I am a completely different person, and except for those that hate me for no reason, I feel as though the vast majority of the server base has grown to accept/respect me. Finally, my last point involves the lack of customization in this suggestion. As stated prior, there are instances where users slip up and are banned, and are simply unbanned after apologizing and understanding their wrongdoings. In reality, what happened after my ban was a complete rule change. Just one day after I was banned, the rule of no AFK spawners was deleted from ECC completely. Should my ban be relevant to this suggestion's idea? I'm not sure.

Overall, I feel like this suggestion needs more thought and substance before being seriously considered by the staff team. For reference, see previously accepted suggestions. They have complete background and thorough explanation for their ideas so that anybody reading the suggestion fully understands the possibly implemented feature.

Again, if a player screws up four times, they are obviously doing something absolutely stupid to keep going. They either don't care about the server and the community or they just don't see enough discipline. And it is pretty clear of a thread @SKSoccer . Four strikes yer' out. I don't know how there could be confusion on that. Seems pretty straight forward to me.
