Denied [Suggestion] Add DuckHunt Minigame to Lobby

This actually looks kinda cool never heard of it before going to look into it myself atm +1

 

Ok just tested this its freakin cool as fk we need this lol could even be added to main server doesn't need to be lobby.

 

I like, but I feel staff is too busy with skyblock to do this

 

Doesn't take long to add its better then skyblock in my opinion lmaooo. Also we need to stop the whole skyblock crap its a fail and move on everyone is burnt out on it they took to long.

Great, of course everyone is going to trust the announcement of "We're now working on some random new gamemode instead. Oh, and we decided to permanently cancel the release of the gamemode we've promised for a long time. The progress we made over the past months wasn't important anyway, right?"

In my opinion any thoughts about adding new gamemodes should be delayed until after Skyblock has been released and evaluated by the players.

 

The point i am making here is i dont see skyblock being added anytime soon its been how long a year? aswell i dont think it will gain us any players at this point we can add more simple things faster and gain more players instead of wasting all this time on 1 thing that wont help us that much.

 

It been like, 4 months, and I assume, almost done!

 

However, who guarantees that adding a different gamemode is going to be any faster? Progress has been made with Skyblock and I really doubt that starting a completely different gamemode from scratch isn't going to take longer than finishing Skyblock at this point.

 

OK well im going to stop it here getting off topic for this suggestion but yea this plugin here can be added in a few hours tops nothing really complicated about it just bought the plugin myself its a really cool thing i think we should add.

 

In my opinion it's not off-topic because we are essentially discussing whether the plugin - the main point of this suggestion - should be added in the near future or whether it's one of those "We'll look at it again in X months, but for now we have more important things to focus on".

Let's be realistic here: Setting up a server isn't simply a "Boot a new server, start the plugin and it's running"; let's take VMR as an example.

VMR was designed to be a network test to offer an insight into how the addition of another game server affects the network. To quote andrew:

It took a surprising amount of work to set up a vanilla server - one with very little configuration (anticheat and /sell). I can't imagine that adding a plugin that needs to be configured first is going to take less time than plain survival.

 

This is why i hate posting on suggestions anymore every single time you guys take something simple and easy and make it into something complicated lol 1 last thing tho this plugin doesn't need its own server we have the lobby or main server.

 

The definition of "lobby" according to Merriam-Webster (following its definition to "foyer" and from there to "anteroom"):

The lobby isn't supposed to have games, it literally has one single purpose - being a waiting room and welcome area for new players and during server restarts/downtimes.


Also, @freddyagogo, it might be a good idea to actually explain what the plugin does instead of linking to it - not everyone (actually, probably only a few people) on this forum have a SpigotMC account and not everyone is able to access their existing account (*Cough* 314 *Cough*).

 

Can easily be accpeted and have the Tag In Progress.
Ive seen many a suggestion be tagged as in progress and still are months after being accepted.

Just because its accepted does not mean it jumps to the top of the list or has to be done right then and now. You are essentially saying you shouldn't post a suggestion to something you want to happen in the future and that suggestions being made have to be for right now.

Actually, my point is "we shouldn't be thinking about ECC's next gamemodes right now if we don't even know when Skyblock will be released, what it looks like, and how it will affect the player count and the community, because those are the factors that should influence the decisions regarding future gamemodes past Skyblock".

 

A good idea is a good idea regardless or being pre skyblock or post skyblock.

 

So I like the idea, but unless it will somehow be tied into the economy, I doubt it would be accepted
