Im not 100% sure but I think you guys made a change to server item clear like 3 days ago because it wasnt that often as its now, Im just trying to farm logs on my tree farm and they disappear %50 of the time, I have like lvl 900 woodcutting so I chop trees for 20 seconds and then pick up logs to sell them to the server, but since yesterday it has been very VERY frustrating to lose half of my profit while farming trees.. Im sure this is not a hard thing to do, I know than server item clear is not based on time, but you can just delay this clear 30 seconds so players will be aware of this, I dont see any drawback about it
I guess the only problem would be (from my perspective) just having an alert whenever drops despawn because it would get annoying after a while for people who don't care. If added, it would have to be toggleable. That is, if it's possible to add. Just my opinion.
Thats what I was thinking, but its not easy as it seems, is seems like its not based in time but in how many throwed items are on server, it can happen like every 4-5 min or 15+ if no one is mining/tree farming or any other activity than involes throwing items, so waiting that much time while tree farming dosnt seem doable.. but yeah, be able to toggle it should be a must
I'd recommend you search for the other suggestions that suggest this same thing, but they all have been answered roughly the same way. We don't clear items in the main world, but there does exist a bug in minecraft itself that occasionally despawns dropped items. This can't be done, as it's not something we control, nor is it something we'd even add if we could.
