Just to clarify Mission, the suggestion was not to ban shouts - only the spamming of shouts. Sure, there is a rule but obviously not everyone is on at all hours of the day and see the times (and there are a few) that shouts are spammed with no warning. I agree that shouts should not be banned - only that we should have an option to ignore them. Based on the amount of -1 ratings, there will be many players to see the shouts and giving us few an option to ignore them seems to not be that big of deal.
Im not forced to buy a newspaper though. Im playing minecraft, not listening to morons spamming shouts
You're in school and you have to listen to a teacher teach you things you don't want to learn about. -1
*Cracks neck* Ok then, I'll bring up a scenario that I've seen before. Two actually. Let's take the Server Broadcast messages that spam chat that a server restart is going to occur. I am not against this because duh, it's a restart, and we all need a heads up about one. But some people do not like that because it clogs up there chat, right? And in the end you cannot ignore those messages, you simply need to just read them. Second scenario is someone spamming something in /ch alert , I remember the Trivia chat where some people did not want to see trivia so they left trivia chat, only to see they still received messages about the trivia in /ch alert, a chat they cannot leave, and it became spammy for them. So, what's different about shout spamming and Server Broadcast / ch alert spamming ? Why have an ignore for shouts but not for the others?
Whats your point? These are channel alert messages, not random Shout messages. Sure alert gets spammed, but most of the time, for good reason. If alert spams, its different from someone spamming shouts.
Actually, no. Not in capital letters escept for proper capitalization - my last shout. One colour - my second last shout. But I agree that at least /ignore should extend to shouts as it defeats the purpose of /ignore...
Maybe there should be stricter rules for staff spamming alert channel? I agree, ive seen some staffers use it way too much, should be used for serious things only. So when someone does use it, you know its important. Alert Spam and Shout Spam are completely different. But i did find your point! Apologies.
Yep this and I don't really care if people decide to waste their money XD This however... I agree with.
In my opinion, if you don't want to see it. Just turn chat off entirely. How hard is it to just look over something?
Would it be possible to make shout into a chat channel? What would happen is you would do /ch shout and still everytime you talk it would cost $1000 however people will be able to do /ch leave shout Just a suggestion
Guys, let's try keep the thread on topic, we don't need the GIF's. Anyone, what I don't understand is why the richer people in the community seem to be able to, in a way, by pass the spam rules. Let me give you a scenario: Player A posgs something in chat and then posts it again, they get warned not to double post by a staff member. Player B posts a shout and then posts it again, he is not warned. Why? Becuase he has spent 2k on shouts, but just because it 'takes money out of the economy' it's fine? I don't think so. Spam/double posting should be enforced where ever, whichever chat you use, be it shout or global. Why enforce it in one place and not in another? There is no consistency, and I for one, am not a fan of it.
