Item/Rank/Feature: Cocoa beans (Brown dye) Data Value: 351:3. Current Price: $0.75. Suggested Price: $1.10. Brief Description: Farmed on jungle wood logs using a diamond axe or water. Open Discussion: At the current price, I am able to make a maximum hourly profit of around $9,000 ($8,976), which I feel is unreasonable. This does not comply with the requirement for crops to make around $12k to $20k per hour. After the buff, I would be making around $13,000 per hour ($13,164.80) which is completely reasonable for a low-level crop in my opinion, and stays within andrew's range of 12-20k per hour. In addition, I remember reading that the reason the price was lowered to $0.75 from $1.10 was because someone convinced andrewkm that cocoa beans spread, which they do not. Thank you for considering my ideas, PULLH20 Edit #2: Andrew has now posted an official rate of around $9,000 per hour, so these ideas are still accurate.
You can set up a water based farm w/o having the water donation. All you need to do is pay a water donator to place the dispensers and from there you can buy water buckets, fill them and use them. The use of dispensers is possible for anyone, so long as the dispenser is already placed. Revanrose6
Cocoa beans takes alot more to actually start growing. Jungle Logs are much much harder to come by then 1 dirt.
This is a great idea. The problem with a box shaped farm is that replanting without fly is a pain. You have to set up walk ways and steps and ladders and it just gets confusing. I find farms like how you harvest wheat easier but, it takes longer.
Last tests I've done, on 4 different big farms, I all ended up at around 15k an hour. This is not low at all.
i have also conducted test that came out to 15k/hr. i know that farming for 3 mins and multiplying by 20 isn't accurate but seeing that kuke got the same results i will post to confirm the you can indeed make 15k/hr on cocoa beans.
I can make 15k per hour on my cocoa farm easily. I wish they were more as well but I can't see the price moving up much if any. Cocoa Farms are like hanging banks. Mine has about 28-30k hanging on it at all times so if I need the cash I can get it within 10 minutes or so but I also know that I will need to spend at least 2 hours replanting in order to " refill the bank ". Not to mention its a great change to melon farming or mining.
Greetings, Can you guys please explain to me a little bit more about your farm setup? Thanks! PULLH20
My farm consists of 4 15x180+ high jungle wood. S0 60 total 180+ or so high. I have water at the top to make it rain cocoa then I have fly to replant. PM me if Im online and ill show you.
