Minecraft Name: MBK2345 Suggestion: Adding in another Stickied Thread in the "General Discussion" to inform players not to post threads about questions that can be simply answered ingame or by PMing a Moderator. Reason: Recently, I've seen many players post threads (mostly) in the "General Discussion" part of the forums, asking one question that could simply be answered by asking in the Shoutbox, On the server, on Teamspeak, or by PMing a moderator. These types of threads clutter up that section of the forums. Any Other Information: Please do not say "Well, it's just builders asking questions, they don't know any better!". False. I've seen presidents asking how to apply for medals, or Mayors asking where to place towns. This is why we have the ECC Wiki, to find the information that they are looking for. These threads are simply not needed, and could be easily preventable by adding a Stickied Thread posted by the Owner Account, and possibly writing a small informative post on the main page to inform all players about the changes. I don't really see an issue - any posts that deal with questions get moved to Help/Support, which is there for, among other things, asking questions. If anything I'd suggest more of an "FAQ" thread, or an FAQ somewhere on the wiki.
I don't actually see most question threads get moved to Help/Support... Or if they do get moved, it's usually days later or after a question has been answered. I agree with a FAQ thread, though. In General, and copy-pasted in Help/Support. The suggestion itself I partially agree with; rather, I agree with the notion/concept. A part of the reason that users (especially newer ones) post for help in General is because it can be hard to find Help/Support in the unorganized mess of forum areas. I think organizing (which I have a suggestion up for) would help a lot, but maybe a sticky/forum direction to Help/Support would be good, too. EDIT: Help/Support is also filled with bugs/glitches/less in-game help. Users may feel odd being the "different" one when they post for help there.
I haven't noticed this being a problem. Just my personal experience. Sent from my LG-VM701 using Tapatalk 2
This isn't a big enough problem to get a sticky thread. If there is a thread like that it is usually moved to help. Or it is answered.
I agree with those above me who don't see this a big issue. We don't want to have too many stickied threads as it risks the current onces becoming lost amongst other, less important, information.
I enjoy seeing these threads by new users. They want to get a feel for the server, and I don't have an issue with that, at all. If anything, asking questions on the forums should be encouraged in my mind. Anyone can give an answer, and if you don't want to answer the question, then you don't have to. -1
