Thanks kuke for the bump - I still fully support this suggestion! Hopefully it will get a review status now at least
+1 adds convenience to users and prevents issues of Staff needing to remind users to /ignore a user when they should be ignored already but were forgotten because of a restart. I can imagine a nice list people have with /ignore name1 name2 name3 ready for every restart! XD
It would also be nice if this applied to the mailing system. So someone is not mailing you why you have them ignored trying to spam a whole bunch of things to you as it would be a waste of time.+1
My only issue with that is /mail is one of the only acceptable ways to issue an eviction notice. The other way is via an eviction thread on the forums. But, if an evicted user happens to not have a forum account they must be mailed ingame for said eviction to be valid. If /ignore were to apply to mail I can see potential issues about issuing eviction notices. I'm all for multi /ignore myself. I'm sure it would make some lives easier.
This would be easily solved if the ignored person received a message back saying "you're being ignored" or something like that, like afk messages: then they would know and therefore would have a chance to ask a mod to deliver the message. Secondarily, I don't think it would be bad if an ignored user received such a message, in general (regardless of the eviction notice scenario): I would like to know if I was ignored, both because therefore I would have the chance to understand something wrong I did, and because I'd know that writing again would be pointless.
