Minecraft Name: SpaceyCat Suggestion: Hello, staff and EcoCityCraft forums. Today I would like to add a recommendation for the addition of a redirector of in-game mail to the forums. This addition may not be possible with known plugins at the moment due to the manner in which Minecraft chat is completely separated from the outside beside logs within the server folder. Also, the ability to respond to mail through the forums would better this recommendation. Reason: I believe this addition would better EcoCityCraft as it would allow players to view mail outside of the game. If another player is asking information (for example a city rule) the recipient of the mail can reply quickly and with ease to inform the sender, even if they are unable to log onto the server. Though there are no plugins that can do this that I know of, custom plugins seem possible, though they may be resource and time demanding. If you have internet to be on the server, you can be on the forums. Just send mail and/or forum pm. It ain't hard
To connect the server mail with the forum pm would require a lot of work for developers and it might not be worth their time. However here's something not too complicated to implement: a simple command /fpm <user> that returns in your chat a link to a new forum pm to that user. It doesn't completely resolve the problem here, but surely could be a handy shortcut for the most lazy users
Yes and no. It is possible to make the server interact with the forum via secure data transmissions - the /bank command is the best example of that. The knowledge to do it exists. However, the /mail command is a part of Essentials, which would require major modification of this plugin. It would probably require some time to develop this - and if I may be honest, I believe there are better ways to spend development resources as logging into the server isn't that much of a hassle.
Not a chance I'll be integrating the server with the forums for something like this. The amount of code and time this would take, not worth it. Chances of this happening is 0%. The auto-bank alone was the biggest custom project in ECC history, and this would be bigger lol. Just log in to Minecraft or use the forums.
