Hi all,
My suggestion is to implement a clause that any suggestion which has a certain number of responses or positive ratings must receive an official response from the server administration team. This response-requiring number could be decided by the public through a vote on the forums - personally, I would find a number of around ten replies or ten ratings to be sufficient.
The aim of this clause would be to end the trend of large suggestions, which have received wide support, being left open for months and even years.
Suggestions which have been ignored, but would be considered under the new guidance, include:
These suggestions are all valid, have received strong backing from the community, and yet are left without even a one-word response from the only people who can cause these changes.
- Raise the /sell hand price of melon blocks
- Lower the price of additional towns
- Decrease forum bank constraints
- Explicit music channels
- Don't lock suggestions in advance
- Lower food prices in the food shop
- Add screenshots to contracts after approval
Now, I am not at all suggesting that once the response/rating-quota has been attained that then the server administration team should immediately stop what they are doing and take a look at the suggestion. Instead, I want it to act as a marker for the players of EcoCityCraft to know when the suggestion will be considered and that a public response will be posted shortly. If this initiative is implemented then more people will be able to have a positive influence on the community.
Please rate and comment your opinion on this suggestion. I will try and respond to any queries and concerns when I find some spare time!
Thanks for reading,
phanto

In fairness, suggestions should be getting replied to by some member of the administration (GA+). Making a suggestion about asking staff to answer suggestions seems a bit backwards to me, however I do agree with what you are saying.

+1 I like the suggestion of ecolegends getting to choose one of their towns to be "unclaimable" and it's been around a long time and not implemented. Good suggestion.

Requiring me to respond to things doesn't magically mean I can implement them. Sure, there are a few I probably could, which I look into adding things usually once a week or so. Don't get me wrong, I'd love if this is what this meant... but it isn't.
Things I can't add, though, what would my official response even be? "I've recommended this to Andrew for review"? That doesn't do anything. It just gives people false hope for something that might not happen soon because there are other, more important, priorities.-

The way I interpreted Phantomine's suggestion is that interested members would simply receive an acknowledgement that their suggestion was noticed and will be reviewed for consideration. I would expect it as just a basic courtesy to the members who are attempting to benefit the community. A polite acknowledgement by staff does not equate to a commitment to implement a suggestion. What it does do, is make the server members feel like they are valued and not being ignored. If an idea is not feasible, or at least not feasible within the near future, just outright reject it immediately; but in so doing, thank the members for their efforts in coming up with an idea in the first place. No need to leave people clueless about what will happen with it.
+1 from me Phantomine -

Vintage_Gamer BuilderBuilder ⛰️ Ex-President ⚒️⚒️ Premium UpgradeOr people who can implement change. Who can actually change things except Andrew and Jamie? They are always busy or working on things, so it would be nice if the server admins or something could assist with implementing suggestions that could be beneficial to the server.

yea exactly if this happens and new things are added the server will bounce back and player count will go up. Right now the server is just boring its always the same nothing big has been added in a long time.

Vintage_Gamer BuilderBuilder ⛰️ Ex-President ⚒️⚒️ Premium UpgradeIts not that they don't care. They always say they are busy with things, so they must be doing other backend stuff.
