That's not really the point, that's also something the server can't control. Basically, people who play on-peak would have an advantage compared to those who play on-peak. Yet, there are less players. This suggestion seems to support self interest more than reasoning. Although I understand the frustration of off-peak players, from the neutral view (someone who's seen, but decides not to participate in these things because I suck at PvP) it just doesn't make sense to have off-peak ones.
^^ Offpeak is actually not that much of a minority... also, as I said above - we could nerf the rewards for offpeak battles if it would be too easy to win.
Come live in EU, see our frustration lol, it's not fair on the users who spend alot of time here to never be able to participate in server events just because our timezone. There should be occasional off-peak things, even once a week would suit me. Just something to keep us going, it gets boring without any server events for us europeans and australians
I understand, and it's quite unfortunate. But again... From a neutral and logical point of view it doesn't make sense at all. It's like saying "I can give $1m to everyone in a village in Africa to make their lives better" then going to one of the smaller villages, when you could easily go to a larger one. See my point here?
No... Why did we move onto Africa, lol. All jokes aside, I see your point, but yet again, we need to have stuff for off-peakers. I don't care if we aren't as big in "numbers" as on-peakers, it's not our fault of our timezones. We still deserve to join in server events.
Decisions are made in the interest of the majority, not the minority. This would be unfair to the majority.
If offpeak events would happen a lot rarer than peak events, how would it be unfair if the US-majority still has a huge advantage...?
I agree completely. I play offpeak a lot (even though I live in the US) and there are several good sg players on every night. Regardless, we need to show some love to the offpeak players.
It doesn't matter how often they happen, that doesn't effect what I mean by fair/unfair. Players who are only able to play on peak hours, which constitutes for a large percentage of our player base, will find it much harder to win a battle then off-peak players. Why should the minority have an easier path to the rewards and the medal?
As I said, if necessary, nerf rewards. Only give out the medal/major if there are at least 20 players in the arena, else only smaller rewards?
I'd rather see what you suggested (20+people in an arena) to activate a boss fight, and have the times sporadically chosen. For example: Phys would come on and say "if we can get 20 people in SG 2 we will have a boss fight!" And the rewards would always be the same, regardless of time. This would allow off-peak players to get involved, and get the same rewards, without effecting the game for on-peak players.
Or we could just do occasionally some on off peak and some on peak. I really don't see why we should alienate a perfectly viable part of the community. If it's easier to win, so be it - it could easily encourage people to play on off-peak, perhaps even in time increasing off-peak server playercount. I think the slight unbalance would be totally worth it to see more players happy and enjoying their time.
I do agree with this suggestion. I notice that most Boss Battles occur later at night (EST and CST) making it hard for those in Europe to participate, seeing how it is often at a very unreasonable time. I personally would like to see more boss battles at more convenient times for everyone, so that more people can participate and that its fun for everyone.
