We could always make the chat function the way the crosshairs do. If you look at a black wall, chat changes to white, if you look at the sky, the chat changes to black. And everywhere you go and everything you look at chat will change color to stay in contrast XD On the serious side, I don't think we really need another channel for this...it's just shoving junk (and people) under the carpet so we won't see it. And I don't think there's really that much spam, I've been in chat long enough that my eyes just auto ignore sg messages. I don't even notice them anymore
This channel would also be a place for the SG winner broadcasts, people complaining about how unfair kits are, and general PVP/SG questions and discussion. It may not seem like much during off-peak times, but it does take up a significant amount of chat real estate during peak hours. As the server continues to grow, this will become a larger issue. Even if it may seem silly for some now, it's best to address and consider solutions for a potential problem before it actually becomes one.
kukelekuuk00 (sry if I can't tag a GA), why do we have /ch mining and /ch l in the mining world then? This suggestion states the same thing, except for PVP worlds.
ch mining is for talking inside the mining world, it's not a global channel. As well as the fact that the mining world is way larger than local chat's reach, while the pvp/sg worlds aren't.
As for the sg messages, there should simply be a way to turn those off, redirecting them to a chat channel is silly. The pvp/sg questions and people complaining about kits is something that'll happen in global chat even when there's a channel for it. people talking about sg isn't even bad, the people who complain either do it in spawn local, or they do it a little bit in global. This doesn't that often, even during off-peak, so I don't think there should be a channel for it. As far as I can tell, the main problem is the sg messages, but a new chat channel isn't the right solution, although an interesting solution, there exists a simpler solution. (a /lot messages for sg)
Local chat for telling people to join your SG? How would this work at all, if they're in sg2 and you tell people to join sg2 you're not really getting the message out there.
There already is a channel named /ch pvp But I think there should be a command such a /sg ignore or /sg off to remove the winning messages. But if you win a sg you should be able to see your win message somehow.
the global sg chatter is very annoying... As an extension, so is the vote rewards broadcast. I mean, if I'm doing a convo with someone that needs screenshot, suddenly a ton of automated messages spam the window....
