Minecraft Name: SuburbSomeone Suggestion: I'm suggesting that we repurpose the region of "spawn2" in legacy into wild land that could potentially become towns. Reason: It's worthless as it is and takes up space. i cri. Any Other Information: No Link To This Plugin/Is this a custom addition?: Nope, would be possible with WorldGuard.
Not for just wild or regular towns. It has more sentiment than that. Come up with some more cool thing to put there, then maybe.
-1 I want to keep my worthless, unnecessary space! ): Though I do agree with Ootopia - it would be nice to put something cool there.
I think it should be used for towns and stuff as I am finding it hard to place a town. I would want this. +1
I wish I had a list of Regions available, but I don't - so... Let's do the math! Or rather, let's use estimates based on facts. The facts: As of right now, there are 7447 Resident+ applications, 4783 Mayor+ applications and 1812 President+ applications. Let us assume that absolutely all Residents+ applied for a mayor town, all Mayors+ applied for a president town and all Presidents+ applied for additional towns. 7 447 + 4 783 + 1 812 = 14 042 Applications. Assuming all towns use a 200x200 area: 14 042 * 200² = 561 680 000 Blocks used up. Assuming that all towns are placed in Legacy: 30 000² = 900 000 000 Blocks of available area. 561 680 000 / 900 000 000 = 62.408888...%. This is the absolute maximum area that can theoretically be used up in Legacy right now. Reasons why this is by far not the actual percentage of used land in Legacy: Quite a lot of the Resident+ applications are concerning spawn shops. This diminishes the amount of actual town applications by a considerable amount. It is extremely unlikely that there are more President applications than town feature applications. According to the town portal directory, there were five floors of portals with 168 portals per floor, so a total of roughly 840 portals; last updated in 2014. I believe that this does not come very close to the total number of town warps plus town flags plus remaining town feature applications we have archived today. Looking at the first few pages of the Presidents+ section, we see that town claims are quite popular. If we keep in mind that everyone who filed a town claim has at least filed a President+ rank application that does not grant another town, we see that another large part of this section is not consisting of town applications. Not to mention the small part of Town-Town portal applications, I will ignore those. The Rising world was released in early 2014. This led to a lot of applications that wanted to have a town in the new world, the amount of new Legacy town applications decreased. Even today I see more Rising applications than Legacy applications. Let us do the math when including the points above by estimating. The estimates: Assuming 30% of all Resident+ apps are spawn shops and 70% are towns. (This accounts for the fact that towns existed before the market, but I still think the shop percentage is higher than that.) Assuming each town has an average of one town feature. 50% are thus town applications. Assuming that after Rising was introduced, each world received an equal amount of town applications (although I believe Rising received more.) Fact: There are roughly 70 pages * 50 threads/page = 3500 threads in the Resident+ forum since the beginning of 2014. Fact: There are roughly 30 pages * 50 threads/page = 1500 threads in the Mayor+ forum since the beginning of 2014. Fact: There are roughly 20 pages * 50 threads/page = 1000 threads in the Presidents+ forum since the beginning of 2014. (Beginning of 2014 estimates the Rising release.) Assuming that 40% of President+ applications are related to ranks or claims/transfers and 60% are town applications. Resident+ applications before 2014: (7 447 - 3 500) * 70% = 2 762.9 = 2 763 Applications. Resident+ applications since 2014: 3 500 * 70% = 2450 Applications. Half of them in Rising, half in Legacy. Resident+ Legacy applications since 2014: 2450 / 2 = 1225 Applications. Mayor+ applications before 2014: (4 783 - 1 500) * 50% = 1 641.5 = 1 642 Applications. Mayor+ applications since 2014: 1 500 * 50% = 750 Applications. Half of them in Rising, half in Legacy. Mayor+ Legacy applications since 2014: 750 / 2 = 375 Applications. President+ applications before 2014: (1 812 - 1 000) * 60% = 487.2 = 487 Applications. President+ applications since 2014: 1 000 * 60% = 600 Applications. President+ Legacy applications since 2014: 600 / 2 = 300 Applications. Estimated total Legacy applications: 2 763 + 1 225 + 1 642 + 375 + 487 + 300 = 6 792 Applications. Estimated total Rising applications: 1 225 + 375 + 300 = 1 900 Applications. Claimed area in Legacy: (6 792 * 200²) / 30 000² = 271 680 000 / 900 000 000 = 30.186666...%. Claimed area in Rising: (1 900 * 200²) / 30 000² = 76 000 000 / 900 000 000 = 8.4444...%. (As I stated above, I believe that the estimates for Rising are a little low, which means the Legacy number should actually be a little lower.) Result: Not even 1/3 of the Legacy world has been filled with towns so far. Probably even less. I don't really see the need to clear such areas - at least not until the world is actually running out of space.
You can see on those maps someone made of legacy and rising all the space as well... People just have to get cozy
I potatoe respectfully. It'd be cool to add something, not sure what. Maybe just auction to highest bidder.
It's staying. It may not be used now but that may not be the case in the future. I would much prefer us to already have the area instead of needing to make a new one. Plus there's plenty of other areas for towns, I don't see the necessity of making that particular area available.
